Purge rhythmbox packages and try again. The deb I built works for me.
If it does not work for you, use the workaround with symilnk.

[Bug 273294] Re: Rhythmbox can not use smb:// as library location

2010-05-22 Thread Ubik
Hi,

I have already built a deb package with the patch metioned by Leon Breedt(see
some posts above).
If you want you can download it here:

http://blog.ezrodlo.pl/archeo/rhythmbox_0.12.8.1_i386.deb

md5sum:
2cca01170785799ce3a95d519b4a2f05 rhythmbox_0.12.8.1_i386.deb

I bult it on 32bit Lucid with this procedure:
http://hadret.com/2008/07/14/rhythmbox-lastfm-debian/

patch: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48042490/rhythmbox-ignore-missing-
processing-attributes.diff

Deb file was prepared on a fresh 10.04 install. Later I moved it to my laptop
and it works for me.
Enjoy

[Bug 273294] Re: Rhythmbox can not use smb:// as library location

2009-12-13 Thread Ubik
Hi,

OS: Ubuntu Karmic 2.6.31-16-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 8 04:01:29 UTC 2009
i686 GNU/Linux
smb share(password protected) mounted with connect to server.. bookmark

Today I installed soundconverter and RB started skipping out songs over my
smb share.
Later I could not listen to music at all because of an access denied error.
So I de-installed soundconverter
(gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs also was deleted as it is a dependency) and everything
is OK.
In my case It seems that gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs broke playing over smb shares.

Upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic also breaks RB.
I can confirm that clean installation of Karmic does not have described issue.

[Bug 71030] Re: Lock Screen blanks screen instead of showing screensaver (on external monitor)

2008-06-21 Thread ubik
The fix provided by Bryce Harrington at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
screensaver/+bug/71030/comments/3 does not work on 8.04. I can killall
gnome-screensaver but I still can't launch gnome-screensaver-
preferences. I get the same:

The error was 'BadColor (invalid Colormap parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 254 error_code 12 request_code 1 minor_code 0)

I have the same symptoms as he, and an additional one: in nvidia-
settings, when I click on OpenGL/GLX Information, nvidia-settings
crashes with this error:

The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 303 error_code 8 request_code 78 minor_code 0)

I display the resources tab of system monitor, showing the 3 History

When I then resize the window (increasing the size), beyond about 600
pixels in height or beyond about 700 pixels width, the graph backgrounds
and scales turn negative, and graph refresh fails to consistently redraw
over previously displayed lines. The graph line thickens.

When I maximise the system monitor window (screen size is 1620x1050),
system monitor displays the same behavior, but also the application
freezes - failing to respond to mouse-clicks - changing tabs, etc . When
I close the window the system monitor closes successfully.
