[Bug 81209] [network-admin] network-admin crashes - Feisty
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools I'm currently connected to my LAN with the wired ethernet card. My wireless is also doing something (the lights are blinking, I don't know more though because I never use it). I wanted to see what's going on and opened network-admin. Both the wireless and the wired appear to be on (they are checked in network-admin). Clicking on the wireless, then clicking properties makes network-admin crash. Here's the apport file (apport would not complete the bug reporting process for some reason, which I filed as bug 81207 ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Needs Info -- [network-admin] network-admin crashes - Feisty https://beta.launchpad.net/bugs/81209 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 88227] Apport doesn't pick up gnome-sudoku crash sometimes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apport Here's my problem with gnome-sudoku. Apparently, when it crashes, this gets picked up by bug-buddy instead of apport. Easy way to reproduce this is as I reported here [1] to open a terminal and hit ctrl+c. gnome- sudoku crashes and brings up bug-buddy (sometimes when it crashes during the game it brings up apport, but it's hard to get a different crasher [2]). Sending a sigsegv from a terminal currently appears to bring up neither. [Bug 89901] [services-admin] Services' description not quite informative
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools I'm currently runing Feisty. services-admin is a way to provide a user friendly service administration, but suffers (in my humble and unimportant opinion) from the fact that the descriptions of the services are not quite clear. For instance: * I've got two Power Management entries, one for acpid and one for apmd. Labelling them as power management is not very useful if you've got two entries under the same label without at least a short description of what they are and how one differs from the other. * Printer service: Again two entries, one for cupsys and another for hplip, without a description. Actions Scheduler (anacron, atd) and Computer activity logger also suffer the same fate. It would be also useful to provide guidelines as to when a service is needed. For instance I do not have hdparm enabled, so I could think that Oh, my hard disk is not tuned or I've got Audio Settings Management disabled but my sound still works. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Confirmed -- [services-admin] Services' description not quite informative https://launchpad.net/bugs/89901 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 88218] [apport] bug-buddy crashed with SIGSEGV in glade_xml_get_widget()
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bug-buddy Erm, this is weird. I was playing gnome-sudoku and it crashed. Bug-buddy popped up (which is quite weird and a bug on it's own I suspect, since apport is meant to handle stuff like that) and it asked me if it should send the report to Gnome. I said Yes. It errored out because there was no internet connection at the time and asked me if I would like to keep the report for later. I said yes, and it apport kindly informed me that bug-buddy crashed. This is on current Feisty, x86, but I'll omit details since the report contains them. [Bug 83112] Does not launch audacious correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus If I go to a folder full of .mp3s and hit ctrl+a and then enter, nautilus launches audacious as it is supposed to but the playlist does not include all the selected files - only a random number of random files get added to the playlist (regardless of whether audacious is running or not). I have not seen this with rhythmbox. It happens with totem consistently whenever playing a ~10 track directory. [Bug 81993] Totem stops playing halfway through the playlist
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem This is on current feisty with 2.17.5-0ubuntu5 . I go to a directory, select a bunch of .mp3s to play. They play correctly. After track 1 finishes, track 2 begins etc. . Randomly (i.e. not after a certain number of tracks) totem will pause and will not play the next track. I cannot reproduce this with nautilus 2.16.1-0ubuntu2. Also, please install the nautilus-dbg package and in a terminal, type 'gnome- session-remove nautilus gdb nautilus'. Then follow the instructions after step 2 of http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace to get a backtrace of the crash (it's quite vital to spotting the problem). [Bug 64755] Hangs on MSN
Public bug reported: Gaim randomly hangs when chatting on MSN (with no other options). [Bug 64755] Re: Hangs on MSN
After taking a look at the changelogs, I thought as much. Nevertheless, it is a fact that while -8 crashed after 2-3 minutes, -6 (to which I reverted) is stable.
