[Bug 732688]

2012-11-15 Thread Will Thompson
I've implemented the respawning-Close() behaviour for chat rooms in Idle
(bug 24273). I feel like time spent making it opt-in could be better
spent elsewhere, so I haven't done that.

WONTFIX is used by developers to say “we will not fix this bug” and/or
“we don't think this is a bug”. In this case, the bug was fixed, just
not released.

I released version 0.5.0 of telepathy-haze just now. It'll show up in
the Telepathy PPA soon, I hope.

(Changing the resolution back to FIXED… Carlos, did you mean to change
it to WONTFIX?)

And, wow, I haven't made a Haze release for … 11 months. Sorry about
that. I'll cut a release now.

You're trying to apply a source code patch in your home directory, which
is never going to work. The patch has been merged to Git master; if you
want to try the latest development version of Haze, you'll want to clone
and build — but
better just wait for Haze 0.5.0.

[Bug 719367] [NEW] prompts for a keyring passphrase when configuring wireless during installer

2011-02-15 Thread Will Thompson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-keyring

I'm trying out the latest Natty images on my netbook. I booted from a
USB stick, and launched the installer. It had a helpful three-point
checklist: IIRC “Have enough disk space”, “Be plugged into the mains”,
and “Have a network connection”. The latter had a red light beside it,
so I clicked on the network manager icon in the panel and connected to
my wireless network.

After I entered the wireless network passphrase, I got a dialog asking
me to configure the passphrase for the login keyring. It's not obvious
whether this will carry over to the new installation (I assume not); on
the assumption that it's just temporary for the duration of the live
session, I just mashed enter, and got a scary dialog about blank
passphrases.

** Affects: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 109224] Re: Optical drive tray ejects when ejecting USB removable hard disc drive

2007-04-23 Thread Will Thompson
I can reliably reproduce the "cannot eject volume" part of this bug with one of
my two USB drives, and can not reproduce it with the other. Connecting both at
once in either order does not affect this.

Upon right-clicking on the icon for /media/brick (the affected disk) and
choosing Eject, the icon vanishes, a "Cannot eject volume" dialog appears, the
icon reappears and a Nautilus window for the disk is opened. grepping the
output of `lsof` for either "sdb" or "brick" yields nothing, and `pumount brick`
works as expected.

Output of dmesg upon plugging in the affected disk:

[Bug 98780] bookmarking positions in a video would be nice

2007-03-29 Thread Will Thompson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

G'day,

It'd be lovely if I could bookmark my place in a video, so that when I
turn my laptop off upon getting off a train or something, I could go
back to the point of the video I was watching another time without
having to seek around to find it.

It'd be even lovelier if totem automagically saved its position if it is
closed while playing, so that when my laptop shuts itself down due to a
lack of power, I can resume the video upon finding a power outlet.

** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
