[Bug 1577198] Re: Imported gpg keys do not show up in Seahorse 3.18.0

2020-03-30 Thread Yannick
I can confirm the behaviour Tamas descripes. I restarted the whole
system not just the user session, but the result should be the same.

A fix for this, at least an error message pointing to gnupg would be
great.

[Bug 1508146] Re: Alt+left/right arrows switch between tty consoles (Gnome Shell vanishes), cannot disable

2018-09-11 Thread Yannick
In my case, I traced the issue to the keyboard-configuration package
postinst script, which ends up calling 'setupcon --force --save' which
in turn calls 'kbd_mode -u'

To reproduce:
sudo apt install --reinstall keyboard-configuration

setupcon documentation states:
"--forceDo not check whether we are on the console. Notice that you can be
forced to hard-reboot your computer if you run setupcon with this option and
the screen is controlled by a X server."

It looks like the checks to avoid this behavior while a graphic
environment is active don't work in the context of the installer.

[Bug 1770720] [NEW] network-manager-openvpn is not working on ubuntu 18.04

2018-05-11 Thread Yannick WEBER
Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.

I installed network-manager-openvpn and as a dependency openvpn and
network-manager-openvpn-gnome.

I restarted NetworkManager with systemctl restart NetworkManager

I'm able to add new openvpn connexion trough .ovpn files but when I
click to ON to my openvpn server network-manager is doing nothing, its
not trying to connect to the openvpn server.

I think there is a bug there.

I'm open to any further questions or informations devs will need

2013-03-21 Thread Yannick Duchêne
The bug is marked as fixed since 2011, but using Eye Of GNOME version
3.4.2, I swear it still does not automatically reload image when
modified (you have to give it the focus and hit “R” all the time, it's
not automatic at all).

[Bug 1129818] [NEW] Yelp cannot find man page anymore

2013-02-18 Thread Yannick Duchêne
Public bug reported:

Before migrating to Ubuntu Precise LTS, I was running Ubuntu Maverick.
On Ubuntu Maverick, typing the name of a command which was given a man
page, opened than manpage. On Ubuntu Precise, it does not work any more.

The same if in the search field, I type `man:command`.

Finally, Yelp is able to find the man page only if it was requested to
from a command line, like in `yelp man:command`.

I using Yelp a lot on Ubuntu Maverick, and I'm not using it any more on
Ubuntu Precise, due to that it may tell you a documentation on a topic
does not exist, while it exists.

I also sometime get errors about XML or XSLT, don't remember, but that
will be for another but report.

[Bug 818642] Re: response to typing is very slow with code highlight with some files

2012-10-20 Thread Yannick Duchêne
I finally could reduce the undo stack size from the DConf editor, but
this changed nothing. That's not the keyboard, as everything is fine
from Nano. The workaround I'm using, is to use Komodo.

So far: it's not due to the undo stack, nor to syntax colouring, nor to
line length, nor to file size, although any of these may have an effect,
the behaviour occurs also without any of these.

[Bug 818642] Re: response to typing is very slow with code highlight with some files

2012-10-19 Thread Yannick Duchêne
I tried to disable syntax highlighting multiple times (selecting
raw‑text in the colouring mode menu), and this changed nothing. I
suspect this may be due to the undo‑stack, but can't find any
configuration to reduce its size (or even disable undo) for comparison,
which would be required to know if that is really this. The hypothesis
of the undo‑stack would explain why it happens after a more or less
short time of editing, and not immediately after a file is opened in
Gedit.

[Bug 818642] Re: response to typing is very slow with code highlight with some files

2012-10-18 Thread Yannick Duchêne
Same issue for me. Gedit is randomly a lot unresponsive to the keyboard
while typing. This never occurs right after Gedit is opened, I have to
typed at least bit before it happens.

Occurs on Ubuntu Precise (12.04) while editing Ada source files (small
files). Was not so much slow on Ubuntu Maverick.

Tried Medit, which does not suffer from the same issue -but which
suffers from others issues), so don't believe it is due to the syntax
highlighting, as as‑far as I know, Gedit and Medit use the same
framework for syntax highlighting. Or else, if it's really due to syntax
highlighting as some one above suggested, may be regex based syntax
highlighting is not a good idea.

[Bug 950352] Re: Online Accounts UI Missing

2012-10-17 Thread Yannick Duchêne
Same for me, using Ubuntu Precise 12.04.

Can open it with “gnome-control-center online-accounts” from a console
(although there are two warning message, see below), but that's not
clean to have to open a console to open it. I came to that issue while
learning more about Ubuntu WebApps.

Additionally, opening the missing control panel from a console, I get
these two messages:

** (gnome-control-center:10977): WARNING **: Could not find settings
panel online-accounts

** (gnome-control-center:10977): WARNING **: Could not load setting

[Bug 945878] Re: Nautilus restart fails

2012-10-14 Thread Yannick Duchêne
By the way, in prior versions of Ubuntu, a simple “nautilus -q” was
enough to make Nautilus restart. Since Ubuntu 12.04, if one just do
“nautilus -q” as before, then the desktop disappears, and that's
probably why the OP wants “nautilus -q nautilus”.

Trying to restart Nautilus the way he wants, I get this error:

Could not register the application:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive
a reply (timeout by message bus).

Whether I do it from a console or from a script, the result is the same.

I use to do it with pre‑12.04 Ubuntu versions, from script, to update
the environment after some refreshing (update-mime-database, update-
menus and the like).

I have the same problem, I think.

Note the only thing that affected the fact that it works or not with Empathy

[Bug 606624] Re: Nibbles - Unexpected Death upon rebirth (gnibbles)

2012-05-10 Thread Yannick Hein
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 (recently upgraded), and I am also experiencing this
sudden-death-bug. It happened already in 11.10(fresh installed), and on various
other systems, with completely different hardware. One is a Lenovo E-525 with a
AMD APU (A4-3300M), the other one ist a Levovo IdeaPad S10e, Intel Atom Intel
GMA.
Another one is a Intel Celeron with a nVidia-Graphics.

So the bug is certainly neither platform, nor version-dependant.

Hope there will be sucess in buliding a patch :)
Because like this playing gnibbles can be really annoying :(

[Bug 953886] [NEW] Right panel context menu is different from the one in the right panel (allegedly because of Nautilus API particular behavior)

2012-03-13 Thread Yannick SAVANIER
Public bug reported:

As stated by Pierre (pwieser) in this bug report in the nautilus-
actions project :

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus-actions/+bug/912412

the Nautilus API has a strange behavior concerning context menu in the
left panel that display a different context menu that from the one in
the rigth panel.

As stated in the bug report this is a defect inherent to Nautilus and
can't be overcome in the add-on.

As such I fill this bug report hoping someone would be able to solve the
problem.

Thanks.

[Bug 799147] Re: Evolution shows wrong e-mail content (list view ok)

2011-08-22 Thread Yannick Warnier
Sorry about the delay, I did not event realize someone had answered
(despite the e-mail I probably received 2 months ago). I'm attaching my
debug file. I've removed a series of reference to private folders of
mine and passwords.

As additional information for the debug:
- I have three inboxes: the default (unused), one imapx account @beeznest.com
which doesn't have the reported problem, and one account @beeznest.org (might
also be .net) which is really the one failing.

- My Evolution system is configured in Spanish, so some error messages
are in Spanish

- I'm using Evolution 2.30.3 packaged for Ubuntu 10.10. I'm OK to do
tests in other versions as long as you can point me to documentation on
how to do that on Ubuntu

- In this debug session, I have opened two mails of my @beeznest.org
Inbox. Both of them had the reported problem of showing the right title
and not the right content ( nor preview). One of them uses the keyword
jQuery (I hope it helps you locate it).

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

[Bug 799147] [NEW] Evolution shows wrong e-mail content (list view ok)

2011-06-18 Thread Yannick Warnier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have several thousands of e-mails in my inbox (right now 7700) and for
some reason, out of the blue, some of my new e-mails show content of
around one year ago. It seems like Evolution is getting the right list
of e-mail headers but requests the wrong mail details to the server when
viewing it in preview mode or double-clicking the mail in the list to
open it in a new window.

I have tried accessing my mail through webmail (Squirrelmail and Roundcube) and
it works well, which makes me pinpoint it to Evolutions' management.
I'm using IMAPX.

I'm attaching a screenshot hoping to make it clear. I have picked an
e-mail entry where the subject in the preview (Asunto in the screenshot)
says one thing when the subject in the e-mails list (above) says
something else. This occurs with a series of e-mails and I tend to think
this is a critical issue (what if an important e-mail comes in?).

Restarting evolution didn't help (seems like a permanent bug). I believe
an apport bug report has been attached to this report but my version of
Evolution is 2.30.3 on Ubuntu Desktop 64bit 10.10.

I'm submitting this through apport so there might be duplicates.

[Bug 195650] Re: Calendar startup and close immediately after 3 Warning that can not open Notize (from a not existing CALDAV)

2010-11-01 Thread judo-yannick
Hello,

I got a similar bug using Ubuntu 10.10 with standard Evolution. I am
importing two external calendars. One as iCal from http:// this seems to
work well. The other calendar I'm importing via Webcal seems to cause
some strange errors. As soon as I open calendar-view in Evolution there
are several errors shown, that my tasks, notize, calendars can't be
loaded, so every calendar is deactivated.

Then I can reactivate the calendars without causing any errors, as far
as I'm opening the webcal-calendar first. But my tasks are still not
visible. I don't want to always reactivate my calendars and I always
want to see my tasks.

Hope somebody knows how to fix this.

I started evolution via command-line, but there's no helpful output I think:

[Bug 578056] Re: lucid ekiga failure/libx264.so.67

2010-05-12 Thread Yannick Defais
Hi,

The intent of devs is as follow:
The H264 codec is an OPAL library plugin, it requires ffmpeg and x264
libraries. Ekiga check if it is available at *runtime*, thus the error message.
AFAIK this is not a bug.

I'm not sure having this piece of code being a zombie is the intented
behavior. I'll push that issue upstream. Can you be more explicit about
it: when you close Ekiga is it still there as a zombie?

Best regards,
Yannick

[Bug 511150] Re: Problems with calls when VPN tunnel is active

2010-04-23 Thread Yannick Defais
Hi,

As it is network related, and there is a regression in 3.2.x compared to 2.0.x
related to STUN, this patched version *may* work:
https://launchpad.net/~sevmek/+archive/ppa

Please give it a try. (builds from 9.04 to 10.04)

Hi,

We maybe have a fix for outgoing call to external landline fails completely;
I built a patched Ekiga 3.2.6 version fixing STUN support for RTP streams here
(the patch is already in OPAL upstream, but only in Trunk, we backported it):
https://launchpad.net/~sevmek/+archive/ppa
(built for Jaunty 9.04, Karmic 9.10 and Lucid 10.04 included)

Please, give it a try.

[Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working

2010-04-19 Thread Yannick Defais
@Again617,

In your case, the issue is with the REGISTER process: Ekiga fails to
register to Ekiga.NET, consequently the attempt to call the echo test is
refused (that's an Ekiga.NET policy, there's nothing wrong with it).

The relevant part in the log is:

This is wrong as the REGISTER is not completed: the authentication

I finally get some time to dig into this. As you are in the ekiga
mailing list too, i'll respond there first.

Would you be kind enough to attach here a wireshark log using twinkle
and a call to 5...@ekiga.net with it just as you did using ekiga in post
#3 ? I'll give details about how ekiga works in the ekiga ml, and once
we figured all this out, I'll provide explanation here too.

Best regards,
Yannick

[Bug 382234] Re: No sound in ekiga when used with Pulse Audio

2009-11-13 Thread Yannick Defais
@Alex,

You can try this:
$ pasuspender -- ekiga
But I tried it on 9.04 and it was not working, *maybe* it works now on 9.10
(I'm quite busy atm and unfortunately I cannot run tests). Otherwise, you'll
need to go using our trunk version which has a preALPHA pulse audio plugin.

Best regards,
Yannick

[Bug 382234] Re: No sound in ekiga

2009-11-07 Thread Yannick Defais
Hi,

Would you be kind enough to check if the issue is the interaction with
Pulse Audio?

The test I propose you is to disable pulse audio, then try to place a
call to see if it makes any difference:

First kill pulseaudio:
$ pulseaudio -k

Remove the pulseaudio package:
$ sudo aptitude remove pulseaudio
(it will probably remove the meta package ubuntu-desktop, please note down any
other package as you might need to reinstall them)

Run the Monitor System application (under Administration-Monitor
system) and make sure there is no pulseaudio process in the Process tab.
If it is there, kill it.

Run (or restart) Ekiga
Place the call using Ekiga.

To reinstall the system you can use:
$ sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop

And finally restart pulseaudio:
$ pulseaudio -D

Best regards,
Yannick

[Bug 112948] Re: Ekiga hangs when using pulseaudio

2009-10-18 Thread Yannick Defais
Hi,

Using Jaunty I have huge delay rending Ekiga barely usable (5 seconds
delay). Tested on 2 really different machines. Removing Pulse Audio fix
the issue for me as well.

Upstream planned to add a Pulse Audio plugin as default configuration
for Ekiga 3.4.

In the meantime, I've no clue how to fix this issue without breaking
Ubuntu default audio setup.

Yannick
