I have the same problem with MSI WIND U90, Karmic, 2.6.31-13, acpi 1.4-2, acpid 1.0.6-9ubuntu8, hal 0.5.13-1ubuntu8, gnome-power-manager 2.28.0-0ubuntu3. I had this problem from time to time for a half of a year. Now it became serious again.
