[Bug 731365] [NEW] Moving read message into another folder creates unread ghost message

2011-03-08 Thread amay82
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a folder in your local inbox (POP3)
2) Receive a message, let it be marked as read after a few seconds
3) Move it into the created folder
4) The created folder shows 1 unread message in the overview, but when you
look into the folder, the message is marked as read. Marking the whole foler as
read doesn't work.

[Bug 671229] [NEW] Printing issues require update to 2.6.11 in current Ubuntu versions

2010-11-04 Thread amay82
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimp

GIMP 2.6.10 has some printing issues which are fixed in GIMP 2.6.11. The
print preview and printing doesn't work correctly in 2.6.10 which is
contained in Ubuntu 10.10. 2.6.11 is a bugfix release only, so it would
be required to update the GIMP package to 2.6.11 in order to make
printing possible.

[Bug 667256] [NEW] Copying via Nautilus much slower than via cp / pv

2010-10-27 Thread amay82
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

Steps to reproduce:
* Take a 50 GB virtual machine file and copy it via Nautilus from one disk to
another
* First, the speed is about 70 MB/s as it should be and ETA is 12 minutes, but
then it gets slower and slower and ETA increases
* It takes ~ 45 min then

Steps to get expected results:
* Copy via cp or pv (pipe viewer, just to see how fast and ETA) - ETA is 12
min, speed is 70 MB/s but STAYS at this speed
* It takes 12 min

= There is something in Nautilus / probably gvfs that takes aways 33
min. Because I do a backup of this machine always before starting to
work on it, these 33 min are important for me.

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 10.10 RC - If I add a Google calendar, the add dialog accepts my

[Bug 583812] [NEW] Connections to FreeNode (Ubuntu) servers don't use SSL by default

2010-05-21 Thread amay82

Some servers, including
* the default xchat-gnome server irc.ubuntu.com (on port 7000)

2010-05-21 Thread amay82
I will post it into Brainstorm.

It's not pointless because I suggest enabling SSL primarly for FreeNode
(and maybe other supporting networks as well). Also, it may be in the
user's interest to communicate encrypted even if there are public logs
available (for instance, if only the ISP or people who the user shares a
WLAN with shouldn't be able to read the chat)

Please check again - seems to appear only on HTML emails. So, steps to
reproduce:

1) Open evolution
2) Select an HTML email so that a HTML preview is shown
3) Try to select a word by double-clicking on it

Submit Bug Report doesn't work in default configuration (bug-buddy not

unexperienced user

[Bug 340175] [NEW] Replace Evolution with other default client

2009-03-09 Thread amay82
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Please note that Evolution is completely unusable. I use it as my
primary email client for at least 2 years, but now I _had_ to switch to
another email client because some totally normal emails made it crash
repeatedly (I couldn't even view the emails) and I can't deal with that.

Also, I have noticed on many different systems and configurations (including
those of my friends, too - so the problems can't be related to some settings
that only I do) that Evolution runs completely unstable, i.e.
* locks up from time to time, especially when using IMAP mail accounts
* loses sent mail from time to time (when using IMAP mail accounts)
* crashes when viewing normal emails
* address book with LDAP has so many bugs that it is unusable

Of course, no software is bug-free and that's absolutely normal.
However, Evolution in its current version is just not usable because it
has too many CRITICAL bugs. So I suggest to MAKE THUNDERBIRD THE DEFAULT
EMAIL CLIENT, which seems to have less bugs (at least, it displayed the
emails that made Evolution crash without problems)
