[Bug 2059847] Re: Input lag or freezes on Nvidia desktops with X11 after logging "MetaSyncRing: Sync object is not ready -- were events handled properly?"
Hello JK (m0d), same sad behavior. Why i can't just downgrade 1 package via... `sudo apt install libmutter-10-0=42.9-0ubuntu7vv1` Many gnome packages will be removed after this downgrade. May be someone have another solution for do this safely? Ubuntu 22.04.4 now is unusable for my work purposes.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2059847 Title: Input lag or freezes on Nvidia desktops with X11 after logging "MetaSyncRing: Sync object is not ready -- were events handled properly?" [Bug 2018455] Re: gnome-shell exits after screen lock / unlock & login segfault libmutter-12.so.0.0.0 in Ubuntu 23.04 on Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen10
> This bug is incomplete awaiting a clear crash report. For each file you find in /var/crash please run ubuntu-bug so the crashes can be analysed automatically. That will also create new bug reports each time. Daniel, I've just hit this issue again after switching Xorg to Wayland. Running "ubuntu-bug _usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash" doesn't do much but showing: "Sorry, Ubuntu 23.04 has experienced an internal error. If you notice further problems, try restarting the computer." After changing "Send error reports to Canonical" (in gnome control panel -> "Privacy" -> "Diagnostics") back to "Automatic" (from "Never") and re-running the `ubuntu-bug` command again -> the "Send" button returned and the window just disappeared after clicking it. So I can't confirm whether it was uploaded anywhere. Hence, I've attached the new crash dump, encrypted with your GPG key. [Bug 1950026] [NEW] gnome-shell leaks mem, 13.8G virt, 1.3G reserved after few days of uptime
Public bug reported: gnome-shell leaks memory like crazy. after 4 days of uptime it uses 13.8G virt and 1.3G reserved mem. This is after I switched to wayland to mitigate the same issue, but on X.org it was much more crazier - about 20G virt / 1.5G reserved after one-two days of uptime, only the leak was in X.org process (2 of them, greeter and main), not gnome-shell. p.s. I do understand that gnome is the best piece of software, and I just use it incorrectly - likely I have some extension or application that is at fault. The bug report is sort of rhetorical. p.p.s. Unmodified LTS system (focal). Started to manifest about a month ago, out of the blue, no changes... [Bug 1920758] [NEW] login screen loses characters in labels
Public bug reported: After 12 days of uptime the sequence of locking screen/unlocking screen led to characters missing in prompt of login screen. A simple fix which works for me is to delay the start of NextCloud for several seconds (5 in my case), by adding X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=5 to the ~/.config/autostart/Nextcloud.desktop file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-appindicator in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846944 Title: Nextcloud client app indicator icon not visible in 19.10 Eoan Beta To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-appindicator/+bug/1846944/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I have the same problem. The Launch button disappeared in Ubuntu 20.04. But it was presented in previous Ubuntu versions. How could this be released? Looks like a showstopper bug. [Bug 353356] Re: Gnome screensaver lock always reports "incorrect password"
Same issue on 18.04. Sometimes, not always, lockscreen starts saying "wrong password". Currently I'm fixing it via switching to a tty (ctl+alt+f1) and sending SIGTERM to everything that mention screensaver except for gsd-screensaver-proxy (simply via htop interface). After that workaround I'm sometimes stuck with a session that turns off my monitors every 30 seconds of inactivity. [Bug 1779871] [NEW] Ubuntu automatically suspends the laptop for the background user when switching back to it from the foreground user.
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1. Install Ubuntu 18.04 on a laptop 2. Create two user accounts 3. Login to the first account and switch to the second account 4. Disconnect the power plug and work (while on the battery) from one (or the other) account for some time (more than 20 minutes which is default according to the "gsettings get org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-battery-timeout" CLI command) 5. When switching a user back to the other account, it will automatically suspend the laptop. Workaround: For each(!) user disable "Automatic suspend" in the Power settings or same with the CLI command: gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-battery-type 'nothing' Bug? I think it is as having the multiuser session, switching back to the background user it should not immediately force the laptop sleep due to the background user inactivity. [Bug 1247363] [NEW] Japanese keyboard layout intercepts caps lock key in ubuntu 13.10
Public bug reported: Hello. As the bug is still present in 13.04 and probably 13.10 Kubuntu users may be interested in a workaround: Copy the attached script 01gnome-keyring-daemon.sh into ~/.kde/env directory. [Bug 1075928] Re: Please, silence IA__gdk_error_trap_pop: assertion `gdk_error_traps != NULL' failed
I don't see taskcoach package in Ubuntu 12.10 repository. For cryptkeeper, unsetting GTK_MODULES variable removes annoying warning message about IA__gdk_error_trap_pop. I'm not expert on GTK or GNOME. AFAIK libcanberra related only to event sound. Is it useful for KDE desktop or it is GNOME speciffic? Funny. [Bug 932177] Re: XFCE (and other non-GNOME) desktops do not initialise gnome-keyring correctly / WARNING: gnome-keyring:: couldn't connect to PKCS11
In my opinion, for Ubuntu-based distributions the root cause of the bug is in lightdm package. At least, in quantal it becomes default display manager for all desktops including non-GNOME ones. In files: * /etc/pam.d/lightdm * /etc/pam.d/lightdm-greeter it has the following line: session optionalpam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start The line starts gnome-keyring daemon for all desktops, while only few of them can properly set up gnome-keyring right now. Probably only_if argument should be used, so keyring daemon will start only for supported environment. One possible workaround is to switch from lightdm to DE speciffic display manager which don't start gnome-kering at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/932177 Title: XFCE (and other non-GNOME) desktops do not initialise gnome-keyring correctly / WARNING: gnome-keyring:: couldn't connect to PKCS11 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-keyring/+bug/932177/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
