[Bug 654395] Re: random graphical boot failure with (process:275): Glib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r() failed due to unknown user id (0)
I get the error on installation. Seems to be permanent and not random. [Bug 574832] [NEW] duplicate disk entry in nautilus sidebar
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus The combination of auto and user options in fstab seems to cause problems in nautilus, such that a duplicate entry for the partition is created which cannot be used. I added an entry to /etc/fstab for an internal partition, the entry is as follows: UUID=verylonguuid /media/data00 ext4defaults,auto,user 0 2 When using the user option in nautilus there are two entries: data00 and 168 GB Dateisystem. Both are the same partition. The 168GB entry is used by the system, thus I can access the mounted partition by clicking the 168GB entry. But the data00 entry does not appear mounted and when I try to access the data00 entry an error message appears saying that /dev/sda5 is mounted already. Which is true, however, /etc/fstab accesses the partition by UUID and not by the device name. Removing the user option solves the problem, but users cannot mount or umount the partition anymore. Also the data00 entry cannot be used for mounting when 168gb is not mounted. [Bug 549837] Re: no video and no codec notification
I found out something very interesting and important, I think. There is only no picture in case a second display is attached. Even if a video is running at the very same time when the second display is attached, the video player picture (in my case totem and xine) becomes black. This is probably not the only factor, since I can remember this thing working with both displays turned on. However, it is reproducable for me right now. Whenever I attach the second display the video picture becomes black. This bug affects at least Ubuntu 10.04 as well as Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix. ** Tags added: karmic -- no video and no codec notification https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
