[Bug 891043] Re: evince does not print PDF document correctly

2012-11-16 Thread baltasarq
I'm the original poster of this bug. I have checked that this problem is
not happening anymore. I suspect that some update has removed it, but I
am not sure. I verified with various pdf documents and they are all
printed okay.

[Bug 891043] Re: evince does not print PDF document correctly

2012-10-08 Thread baltasarq
Yes, it still happening as reported:

$ uname -a
Linux pcjbgarcia 3.2.0-32-generic-pae #51-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 26 21:54:23 UTC
2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Evince reports version Document Viewer 3.4.0

Cups reports CUPS 1.5.3 through its web interface.
Cups does correctly report about the printer: Brother HL-5250DN series Brother
HL-5250DN BR-Script3 , Postscript-Brother 20101122 (OpenPrinting LSB 3.2)

Again, this only happens with Evince, I do always print with LibreOffice
without problems.

Thanks.

[Bug 878993] Re: When I try to extract file by just drag and drop by mouse, everything freezes

2012-01-26 Thread baltasarq
I decided to experiment a little, since this error is annoying.

I downloaded the last version of file-roller, 3.3.2, in source code
form, unzipped it and build it.

$ cd file-roller-3.3.2
$ ./configure
$ make

Then I copied the executables in src to the following locations:

$ cd src
$ sudo cp file-roller /usr/bin
$ sudo cp file-roller-server /usr/lib/file-roller/

And now everything works as a charm. Drag Drop is fully functional
again. I know I should not install binaries this way, though this error
is so annyoing, and has been unattended for so long as well, that I
think that yes, it is justified.

So, the fix to the problem is to pack and the distribute the last file-
roller.

[Bug 891043] [NEW] evince does not print PDF document correctly

2011-11-16 Thread baltasarq
Public bug reported:

1. Using Ubuntu 11.10,
2. Evince reports version 3.2.1 Document Viewer Using poppler/cairo (0.16.7)
3. I try to print a PDF document in my Brother HL-5250DN, through Evince.
4. Instead of having the document printed, I have a blank page with a gray
rectangle saying:

ERROR NAME;
Undefined
COMMAND;
Copyright
OPERAND STACK;

This does only happen when trying to print from evince, not from
LibreOffice, for example. Also, it normally happens when trying to print
a document with some kind of image (a photo, an institution logo, etc.).

Cups reports version 1.5.0 through its web interface. It does correctly reports
a Brother HL-5250DN series printer attached.
Driver: Brother HL-5250DN BR-Script3 , Postscript-Brother 20101122
(OpenPrinting LSB 3.2) (grayscale, 2-sided printing)

Anyway, as I said this problem does only happen with Evince.

** Affects: evince (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 884503] Re: file-roller crashes with drag and drop with error Extraction not performed. You do not have the right permissions to extract archives in the folder

2011-11-10 Thread baltasarq
I confirm this bug, which is probably a duplicate of bug #878993. This
bug is extremely annoying, since not only file-roller gets frozen, but
the entire desktop.

The only workaround that I found was to press alt-f1 in order to get
tty1, login, type ps aux | grep file-roller and kill the process (kill
-9 pid_of_file_roller).

It it curious that anyway file-roller id not killed, but anyway,
everything comes responsive again.
