[Bug 19497] Re: gedit crashes when you spell check

2008-10-01 Thread blueglow
This is happening to me in version 2.24.0-0ubuntu1 under Intrepid alpha
6.

To recreate:
1. Open gedit
2. Click Tools - Check Spelling or Set Language..., OR Check Autocheck
Spelling and type a word press space
3. gedit hangs, no crash, but no redraw and need to end process.

[Bug 148342] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in gnome_calendar_get_current_view_widget()

2008-09-28 Thread blueglow
Same as deuce above but on Intrepid.
(I added a Google calendar, seemed ok, brought the calendar panel applet and
didn't see the Google calendar enties. Keyring manager asked me twice and I
chose always allow. Then suddenly 100% cpu and apport pops up)

[Bug 191027] Re: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument

2008-09-25 Thread blueglow
I have the same problem under Intrepid as the other recent posters -
today's update broke stuff.

uname -a:
  Linux wideboy 2.6.27-4-generic #1 SMP Wed Sep 24 01:30:51 UTC 2008 i686
 GNU/Linux

paplay /usr/lib/openoffice/share/gallery/sounds/space.wav:
  Stream errror: Invalid argument

I'm not running a server version (J Posey), and can confirm that the
little script posted by Alroger Filho above does fix sound across the
whole system and various apps.

[Bug 87796] Re: the calendar of the clock applet is slow

2008-06-09 Thread blueglow
This has started happening for me under Hardy: very long wait first
click, then just a long wait from then on. This did not happen under
previous versions back as far as Edgy, but then my usage was
different...

I tried a few things and can remove the delay:
* It appears that using a Google calendar under Evolution makes this slow...
* Once I deleted the calendar entry for my Google calendar, the delay is now
gone.

So it appears the use of online calendars makes the clock applet slow to
the point of embarrassment. Smells like a bug to me - can't the remote
calendar be queried/updated asynchronously?

Anyway, hope this info helps Ubuntu/Gnome.

Jim

[Bug 87796] Re: the calendar of the clock applet is slow

Using online/Google calendars appears to be the cause - reopening so
that someone wiser than I can check.
