[Bug 546785] Re: Changing keyboard layout in control-center should update default gdm layout in .dmrc

2011-02-27 Thread booxter
I don't think this should be respected in any way - that seems like the
right behavior for user session settings: user gconf settings should
*replace* gdm settings, not *merge* with gdm one. What do you think?

[Bug 324115] Re: gnome-display-properties changes desktop theme

2011-02-26 Thread booxter
Tried to reproduce it on Ubuntu 10.10 on Elitebook 6930p (the original
reporter's hardware) with no success. Maybe this can be actually closed
if the original reporter doesn't exprerience the issue anymore.

[Bug 546785] Re: Changing keyboard layout in control-center should update default gdm layout in .dmrc

2011-02-26 Thread booxter
Even if I choose Belarus (Latin) keyboard in gdm and get the following
contents of .dmrc:

[Desktop]
Language=en_US.utf8
Layout=by   latin

I have USA layout added to my keyboard setup. Any known workaround for
this behavior?

I use Ubuntu 10.10.

2011-02-26 Thread booxter
I've uploaded custom gnome-settings-daemon package with this bug fixed
(completely ignoring GDM layout in user sessions). You can get it from:
https://launchpad.net/~ihar-hrachyshka/+archive/ppa
The fix is backported from GNOME master git branch:

[Bug 531173] Re: New Lucid keyboard layout indicator does not indicate current layout

2011-02-25 Thread booxter
I don't need all these indicator-applets icons like
mail/empathy/gwibber, bluetooth, and volume stuff. (I don't used
Evolution because it sucks, empathy has simple notification icon, I
don't use social networks crap, I don't use bluetooth devices, and
gnome-volume-applet 'just works'). If you don't want us to use standard
well-known g-s-d keyboard applet, could you please provide us with a
solution on how to remove all these unneeded icons from the panel?

[Bug 159402] Ubuntu uses old Locations.xml file for gweather panel applet

2007-11-01 Thread booxter
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

It seems that Ubuntu uses some kind of old Locations.xml file for
gweather applet (located in /usr/share/gnome-
applets/gweather/Locations.xml). At least it doesn't use new Belarusian
Latin translations of location names ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) that was introduced in
GNOME 2.18. So our Belarusian Latin users can't see results of l10n
efforts.
