[Bug 61201] Re: Powermanager doesn't shutdown when batteries rich critical state

2008-12-20 Thread cnj5
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 135548 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135548

Same problem on a couple of laptops they were working as expected then
stopped.

Did a fresh install 8.04 then after 100+ updates now not working.

This doesn't just seem to be on critical battery but when it is running on
battery power auto suspend hibernate doesn't work at all.
When ac plugged in works as expected suspending/hibernating after time outs set
in power manager.

Tried 8.1 live and appears to have exactly the same problem
suspends/hibernates on ac but not on battery power.

[Bug 16472] Re: Login Screen Resolution

2008-10-16 Thread cnj5
Happened to me when upgrading to hardy

The fix I used (which I haven't had to do in years, like before
graphical logins ) is to reorganise the Modes in Section screen #
of the xorg.conf so that the mode you want to use by default is the
first in the list. eg :

original xorg.conf file using the wrong size 800x600 used but my display
is 1280x1024

 Modes[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

change to

 Modes [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]
