Yes. Totem does this too. You can easily reproduce this, just drag an ogg and an mp3 file into the playlist pane and hit play. [Bug 456273] Re: Playback freezes when playing ogg files
Hi ... I'm affected by this too. It definitely happens repeatably when switching from mp3 to ogg. It seems to pause for about 5-6 minutes and then start up again. I added a sequence of mp3, ogg, speex, and aac to my play queue and captured rhythmbox's debug output. Here are the relevant parts from when I start playing (the gory details of loading my music library have been redacted). You can see the difference between when the track switches and when it actually starts playing by looking at the tick_cb messages - they show the same stream position for a long time, then finally switch. I've edited the file so this is more obvious. As expected it also pauses when switching to speex and aac. It seems like the pause gets longer each time. The question is ... is this a rhythmbox or a gstreamer bug? I believe I noticed similar behaviour in totem recently too. ** Attachment added: edited debug log from rhythmbox http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34085303/rhythmbox_redacted.log.gz -- Playback freezes when playing ogg files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456273 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 76011] Re: Keyboard Indicator applet does not show correct text after a second login
Hi, I have exactly the same problem, on an installation of Feisty upgraded from Edgy, upgraded from Dapper. The keyboard-indicator was showing 'us' instead of 'USA' and I got the dialog box when trying to open keyboard-properties. If I stop evolution-data-server and all other evolution crap before I log out and log back in, the problem goes away. In fact, it seems that this also affects my ability to use the drivemount-applet. I tried about 5 times add it to the panel without any success, but then after killing Evolution and logging out and back in, I had 5 drivemount applets waiting for me! And, it wasn't detecting my portable music player properly in Rhythmbox, but now it is. IMHO Evolution should be an optional part of the Ubuntu desktop. It's not as functional an e-mail client as Thunderbird, and Google Calendars is a lot more useful as a calendar. But that's just my opinion. -- Keyboard Indicator applet does not show correct text after a second login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/76011 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 76011] Re: Keyboard Indicator applet does not show correct text after a second login
More data points: I am not able to replicate this by creating a new user, starting Evolution, adding drivemount and keyboard applets, logging out and back in again. Everything works fine. So there must be some random crud in my GConf registry that is ultimately causing this problem. If I start Evolution again as my regular user, then log out and back in again (causing evolution-data-server to be added to my session), then the problem reappears. The keyboard indicator is wrong and the drivemount-applet doesn't start. Let me know if there is anything in particular that I should run strace on, or any part of GConf I should be looking at... -- Keyboard Indicator applet does not show correct text after a second login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/76011 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 37760] All GNOME programs segfault immediately on AMD64
Public bug reported: Affects: at-spi (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Something is seriously (64-bit?) broken in libatk-bridge.so. Okay, actually, the fix noted above doesn't seem to really fix everything. Now update-notifier and some other programs are breaking. I think that there is something fundamentally wrong with the way that the atk-bridge is trying to free things here but I don't know enough about the internals of ORBit and so forth to fix it properly. Of course, commenting out the CORBA_free call entirely makes everything work, but it certainly leaks memory.
