[Bug 1710346] Re: Drag & drop from the desktop freezes partially the PC
Dear all, I switched to 17.10 on Friday and I noticed the same exact problem. This is not solved, because my Ubuntu version is fully updated. when I drag and drop files from the desktop to an open nautilus window, the mouse cursor gets stacked and the only solution to unblock the situation is to restart the laptop. Killing nautilus does not solve the problem, therefore it seems unlikely to me that the bug is related to nautilus. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1710346 Title: Drag & drop from the desktop freezes partially the PC To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1710346/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 575975] Re: Unable to launch some Gnome games in 10.04 LTS
Hello Daniel, Thank you for your concern. I upgraded from an older version. It's a long time i have Ubuntu now. Last version I used was 8.04, but i had also older versions before. To upgrade from 8.04, I simply used the update manager from the system menu. I had three upgrades in a row, during the same week-end I migrated to 9.04, then 9.10 and finally 10.04 (without really using them, I just did one boot to see it was ok). Now that I think of it, I am not really sure which of the games were in the original version and which ones I installed using the applications menu. Sorry I cannot be more accurate than that, I had to purge linux versions because I had no place anymore in the / directory. But I am sure I always used the Ubuntu applications menu to install them, I never installed picking packages directly from the internet. Have a nice evening. [Bug 382167] [NEW] LCD backlight flickers when adjusting it and when the system is idle
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Since I installed Intrepid, adjusting the LCD brightness is always an annoying experience on my Acer 5720, both on AC power and on battery power. If I increase or decrease the brightness by one step with the Fn+left/Fn+right one of the following will randomly happen: - changing the brightness (as expected); - resetting the brightness to the minimum; - the brightness rapidly goes to the minimum, then to the desired amount. This may happen up to 2-3 times in a row, leading to an annoying short flicker. With the +/- buttons from the Brightness applet, the brightness seems to go to the minimum, then goes back, then to the minimum again, then to the new value. During these operations (which last about half a second), the applet is unresponsive, i.e. the slider changes its position only after it finished. Trying to drag the slider to the desired value, it behaves like I was pressing the +/- buttons many times, therefore the brightness flickers and slowly changes for some seconds. Sometimes it directly reaches the final value, sometimes it goes back for a certain amount then goes to the final values, sometimes it stops in the middle. All of this is VERY annoying. Moreover, I see some flicker happening some time after I don't move the mouse or press any key (always returning to the current brightness) and/or when I start again to use keyboard or the mouse. I repeat: before using Ubuntu 9.04, everything worked almost fine. The cause may be a conflict between gnome-power-manager and some other piece of software (kernel? brightness applet?), therefore I'm filing this to the g-p-m package.
