[Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed USB 3.0 drive

2017-01-04 Thread flocculant
@jsalisbury

I've downloaded the patched kernels for both Xenial and Yakkety.

For both I tested copying to drive and ejecting. Also tested just
mounting and ejecting.

In both it worked as expected - no re-mounting of the drive after
ejecting.

Thanks.

[Bug 1615341] [NEW] Yakkety desktop fails to start

2016-08-21 Thread flocculant
Public bug reported:

Following a set of updates (attached) Saturday 20th I lost a working
desktop. Further to that recent dailies for Xubuntu and Mate both fail
to start a working desktop either by:

1 - booting Try option from the first menu
2 - booting Try option from the Try/Install dialogue
3 - logging into installed system

Changing the Exec line in /usr/share/xsessions/xubuntu.desktop from

Exec=/usr/share/xfce4/scripts/run-systemd-session xubuntu-session.target

to

Exec=startxfce4 and my normal desktop runs again.

(Found all this out after I reported bug 1615338, which I've now marked
invalid)

Opened a virtual machine.

Installed synaptic.

Logged out an in.

Got gnome-software to install the alarm clock applet - then removed it.

Gnome-software is still running at this point.

Opened synaptic - no dpkg lock

Started installing alarm clock in synaptic and gnome-software - trying
to keep start to a minumum (small app)

Hit start in both.

Both appearing to be installing this application

[Bug 1552802] [NEW] Can have synaptic and gnome software running concurrently

2016-03-03 Thread flocculant
Public bug reported:

If one is running an apt command and you try to run synaptic - or of
course the other way round you get the dpkg lock warning.

It is apparently possible to run gnome-software and then open synaptic
without warning and in fact install from one while both are open.

See screenshot.

It looks like the feature is missing from the apt backend, while it would be
nice to have it also doesn't feel like an important feature so we should maybe
just not display the button for this cycle?

2016-01-29 Thread flocculant
Ok - so possibly not just audio cd's given I see similar without any cd
hardware at all, similarly not the clementine issue I reported (bug
1537184)

I've been having the issue for a couple of weeks - possibly related to
gst changes - changelogs show changes at about the time I saw the issue
first, though just assumed it was clementine in dev version at the time.

bag, good and ugly saw changes 5/6th Jan, base 11th Jan

No - it doesn't fix the bug - just deals with restoring if the normal
way fails.

Thought this was just Thunar, checked in Ubuntu Wily with nautilus -
same issue there.

Installed restore-trash - and that worked.

** Package changed: thunar (Ubuntu) => gvfs (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1493908] Re: ctrl+z key combination does not restore picture to its original setting

2015-09-15 Thread flocculant
Is this a bug with shotwell - that is, is this behaviour wrong for the
program?

If the shotwell behaviour is correct - then the bug is with testcase, we
can change the Affects once we know where the bug is.

[Bug 1493908] Re: ctrl+z key combination does not restore picture to its original setting

2015-09-15 Thread flocculant
** Package changed: shotwell (Ubuntu) => ubuntu-manual-tests

** Description changed:

+ Testcase: 1428
+
The shotwell testcase for ubuntu desktop has a few errors.

First, the "red-eye" edit button did not show a red circle when the
"apply" button is pressed. Instead it shows a green circle when pressed.

Second, after a picture has been cropped, the ctrl+z key combination
does not restore the image back to its current setting. When pressing
the ctrl+z combo, the rotate button begins shifting from right to left
rotate. Sometimes, it will actually rotate the image.
