[Bug 38754] Re: [Dapper] ogg stream operations causes Rhythmbox to lock

2007-04-06 Thread ian marcinkowski
I havn't had this problem in a while.

I've recently upgraded to Feisty Beta and have been listening to
rhythmbox a lot. If I get a crash, I'll try to be useful.

[Bug 38754] Re: [Dapper] ogg stream operations causes Rhythmbox to lock

2007-01-11 Thread ian marcinkowski
Things seem pretty good now that I'm using Edgy.

I get a nice little error dialog when the server is unavailable now.
I'll try listening for a few hours and see if rhythmbox crashes.

[Bug 38754] Re: [Dapper] ogg stream operations causes Rhythmbox to lock

2007-01-11 Thread ian marcinkowski
I hope this is helpful. I installed the rhythmbox-dbg package, if that
makes a difference.

Program received signal SIGINT, Interrupt.

[Bug 38300] Re: [Dapper] Sound-juicer crashes after editing gconf keys

2006-10-02 Thread Ian Marcinkowski
I'm not having this problem anymore. This problem disappeared a while
ago, though I don't think I did anything special.

*shrug*

I'm still running Dapper if that matters.

[Bug 46394] evolution expands last-selected folder on restart

2006-05-24 Thread ian marcinkowski
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

The suggested behaviour would be to remember the expanded state upon
restart. Evo remembers the state of all folders except the currently
selected folder, which it expands regardless of the previous state.

Pretty Screenshots:
Before - http://depressive.desrt.ca/~ian/else/evo1.png
After - http://depressive.desrt.ca/~ian/else/evo2.png

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 38754] Re: [Dapper] ogg stream operations causes Rhythmbox to lock

2006-05-18 Thread ian marcinkowski
I havn't had the problem lately because I havn't been listening to those
stations and they're currently unreachable.

While rhythmbox (and ogg123, as well) is trying to connect to these
streams while they're unreachable, it becomes unresponsive.

After about 5 minutes, Rhythmbox generates the following in gdb during the lock
up:
(rhythmbox:21975): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: do_next_idle: Unhandled error: Unknown
playback error

After Rhythmbox locks up, I've never waited for it to come back before.
Perhaps this is the problem.

ogg123 also locks in the same way. Could it be a protocol error, or an
error with the ubuntu.hbr1.com server?

[Bug 39024] Re: [Dapper] Gedit fails to save to remote location if creating new file while using sftp

2006-05-18 Thread ian marcinkowski
I still have the problem. When I experience this problem, I'm creating
a new document in gedit, then saving to the sftp server. I guess I'm
using the standard ssh server, though I don't really know how to check.

I edit existing remote files by opening them from nautilus.

gnomevfs-copy seems to be the source of the problem. When I copy a local file
into a not-yet-created file on the remote server, I get a protocol error.
computer:~/Desktop$ gnomevfs-copy foo sftp://server/home/person/foo
Failed to copy foo to sftp://server/home/person/foo
Reason: Protocol error

[Dapper] Sound-juicer crashes after

[Bug 39024] [Dapper] Gedit fails to save to remote location if creating new file while using sftp

2006-04-10 Thread ian marcinkowski
Public bug reported:

Affects: gedit (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When saving a new remote file over sftp, gedit gives the following
error:

Could not save the file sftp://path/to/remote.file
Unexpected error: Protocol Error

This initial save operation creates the file on the remote system but
doesn't save any data to the file.

All subsequent operations function as they should.

Reading the middle section, I just remembered that I changed the vorbis quality
in the 'lossy' profile from 0.2 (or something) to 6. Perhaps that has
something to do with the crashing.

The segfault happens right when I try to access the prefs dialog.

[Bug 38754] [Dapper] ogg stream operations causes Rhythmbox to lock

2006-04-08 Thread ian marcinkowski
Public bug reported:

Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
There seem to be a couple causes for this.

1) Sometimes switching between two of the default ubuntu ogg streams
(http://ubuntu.hbr1.com:19800/trance.ogg or ambient.ogg) will cause
rhythmbox to crash. This happens seemingly random, but only after
playing a stream for a while. Using the pause/play button to turn the
stream off somtimes causes this.

2) When the end of the stream is reached, instead of either stopping
playback or reconnecting to the stream, rhythmbox crashes.

Reproducing this bug is a pain because the conditions seem random for #1
and you've got to wait for the ogg stream to end for #2, which only
happens every 30-90 minutes.

Here's somg GDB info:

[Bug 38300] Re: [Dapper] Sound-juicer crashes after editing gconf keys

2006-04-07 Thread ian marcinkowski
I changed:
base_uri
from: file:///home/ian -to- file:///home/ian/Desktop
device
from: no value -to- /dev/hdd (though I changed this back after this bug
reared it's head)
file_pattern
from: %tn - %tt -to- %aA - %aT - %tN - %tT
paranoia
from: 8 -to- 255

I've since changed all values back to their defaults and sound-juicer is still
crashing.

[Bug 38300] [Dapper] Sound-juicer crashes after editing gconf keys

2006-04-05 Thread ian marcinkowski
Public bug reported:

Affects: sound-juicer (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
In order to obtain properly tagged/named files, I'm required to go into
gconf and manually edit the file-naming scheme that sound-juicer uses
(which is a bug in its self, IMO).

Since doing a fresh Dapper Flight 6 install last week, I havn't ripped
any CDs, until now.

After going editing the file_pattern and path_pattern keys, sound-juicer
now crashes when I try to access the preferences dialog even though I've
changed the gconf keys back to their default settings.

The following is generated by bug buddy:

Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/sound-juicer'
