[Bug 278078] Re: The key repeat delay for the down-arrow, left-arrow, and End keys is longer than the other keys

2008-10-10 Thread icorbett
I can also confirm this for at least the left and down arrow keys. I'm
not sure what the value of these outputs are but on an Hardy system,
updated to latest packages this morning:

-(~)$ xprop -root|grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = xorg, pc101, us, , lv3:ralt_switch

And on the beta Intrepid system installed Tuesday and updated to the
latest packages this morning:

-(~)$ xprop -root|grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = evdev, pc105, us, ,

I am seriously considering rebuilding the Intrepid system using Hardy as
this bug limits my ability to do my job effectively.

You can say that again... I am thrashing desperately trying to find a
way to fix it even temporarily. If I have any luck I will post it here.

 icorbett, +1. It's a very annoying bug.

[Bug 128211] Re: openoffice does not start

2007-08-09 Thread icorbett
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 127944 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127944

With the update on 8/8/2007 I also still get the same error when trying
to launch either ooffice -calc or ooffice -writer.

(process:26260): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **:
/build/buildd/glib2.0-2.13.7/gobject/gtype.c:2242: initialization
assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function

(process:26260): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion
`initialization_value != 0' failed

(process:26260): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_screen_get_font_options: assertion
`GDK_IS_SCREEN (screen)' failed

I am happy to provide any more detail or troubleshooting that would help
resolve this.
