[Bug 103852] Re: [apport] cpufreq-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in _start()
This might change into a KVM-issue. When I'm trying to start a KVM machine now it trys booting Windows but before it comes to the Windows XP booting screen it crashes with the following output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ kvm -no-acpi -m 512 Windows/windows.img unhandled vm exit: 0x0 rax 0005f8ec rbx 0005fce4 rcx 0005f93c rdx 00010002 rsi 0005fd10 rdi fffe0080 rsp 0005f860 rbp 0005f860 r8 r9 r10 r11 r12 r13 r14 r15 rip 804dce77 rflags 0246 cs 0008 (/ p 1 dpl 0 db 1 s 1 type b l 0 g 0 avl 0) ds 0023 (/ p 1 dpl 3 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) es 0023 (/ p 1 dpl 3 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) ss 0010 (/ p 1 dpl 0 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) fs 0030 (ffdff000/1fff p 1 dpl 0 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) gs (/ p 1 dpl 0 db 0 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 0 avl 0) tr 0028 (80042000/20ab p 1 dpl 0 db 0 s 0 type 9 l 0 g 0 avl 0) ldt (/ p 0 dpl 0 db 0 s 0 type 0 l 0 g 0 avl 0) gdt 8003f000/3ff idt 8003f400/7ff cr0 8001 cr2 fffe0080 cr3 39000 cr4 0 cr8 0 efer 0 Aborted (core dumped) [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ kvm -no-acpi -m 512 Windows/windows.img unhandled vm exit: 0x0 rax 0005f8ec rbx 0005fce4 rcx 0005f93c rdx 00010002 rsi 0005fd10 rdi fffe0080 rsp 0005f860 rbp 0005f860 r8 r9 r10 r11 r12 r13 r14 r15 rip 804dce77 rflags 0246 cs 0008 (/ p 1 dpl 0 db 1 s 1 type b l 0 g 0 avl 0) ds 0023 (/ p 1 dpl 3 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) es 0023 (/ p 1 dpl 3 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) ss 0010 (/ p 1 dpl 0 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) fs 0030 (ffdff000/1fff p 1 dpl 0 db 1 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 1 avl 0) gs (/ p 1 dpl 0 db 0 s 1 type 3 l 0 g 0 avl 0) tr 0028 (80042000/20ab p 1 dpl 0 db 0 s 0 type 9 l 0 g 0 avl 0) ldt (/ p 0 dpl 0 db 0 s 0 type 0 l 0 g 0 avl 0) gdt 8003f000/3ff idt 8003f400/7ff cr0 8001 cr2 fffe0080 cr3 39000 cr4 0 cr8 0 efer 0 Aborted (core dumped) Where could I find the dumped core? [Bug 103852] Re: [apport] cpufreq-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in _start()
Update again... This seems to know a well-known problem. KVM does not seem to be working right now!!! Just take a look on these reports: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=395467 Tried to build KVM module with the kvm-source package but it didn't work so I will keep on trying but I think the kvm package has some problems. -- [apport] cpufreq-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in _start() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103852 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 103852] Re: [apport] cpufreq-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in _start()
I don't think that the bug will appear again because now the virtual machine seems to be running. Maybe KVM will crash again, I try it out later tonight. -- [apport] cpufreq-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in _start() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103852 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
