Why would they switch to something like empathy if it has such a huge bug? Port lockdowns are commonplace in public WiFi installations, Proxies are the only resort in that instance. It baffles me that this is this way! [Bug 385935] Re: google contacts: error loading address book
just confirming this case, went to sync with google contacts and I got the error, ubuntu 8.10 and I went to the keyring and double checked I am 100% certain I have the correct credentials.
