[Bug 1892440] Re: [focal] [nvidia] Mutter 3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.2 small text in Ubuntu 20.04 with nvidia cards

2020-08-25 Thread Konrad
It affects Intel integrated GPUs too.

You can downgrade libmutter package temporarily as a workaround:

sudo apt install libmutter-6-0=3.36.1-3ubuntu3 gir1.2-mutter-6=3.36.1-3ubuntu3
sudo apt-mark hold libmutter-6-0

Remember to unhold after fix comes out!

[Bug 879073] [NEW] Not all emails are shown

2011-10-20 Thread Konrad Kruczynski
Public bug reported:

I set up a IMAP gmail account without problems. Generally evolution
works fine and I am really pleased with it (it is so much better than
Thunderbird which I used before). However, sometimes some of the newest
email are not shown and unread counter is negative (-3 unread, for
example). After sending new email to myself I am able to see it but
still those missing emails does not show up. Other email clients
connecting to this account (for example cell phone client) show them
without problems.

Maybe some standard way to install jaunty packages on karmic?

For me, guipdftk resp. the Freepascal compiler Lazarus are broken.

[Bug 372705] [NEW] nautilus doesn't update view after file/directory creation

2009-05-06 Thread Konrad Paumann
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I see following behaviour on an up to date Jaunty.
When creating a file/directory with gedit, in the shell (touch file), or by
extracting a zipped file in that directory (right click on the zipped file -
choose extract here) nautilus doesn't update its view.
I have to manually click on reload or open the directory in nautilus to see the
actual directory contents.
Also when I delete/move/copy files in the shell (in the directory that is open
in nautilus), nautilus doesn't update its view of the directory.

Expected behaviour would be that nautilus updates the view of the
directory when a file/directory is created/copied/moved/deleted in that
directory.

I don't really think this is a duplicate. Difference is that on my system

Why do you think that this is a duplicate? What can I do to help debug the

[Bug 301174] Re: Annoying system beep plays instead of alert sound

2008-11-24 Thread Konrad Paumann
Yes, this beep is extremely loud. It's not only annoying, it really
hurts in ones ears. For example: When someone hears music over his
earbuds and Evolution finds a new mail the alert sound is triggerd and
produces an extremely loud beep direct into his ears ... really hurting,
annoying and shocking.

Is this maybe a problem with pulseaudio not controlling the pc speaker?

[Bug 75473] after upgrade automount in KDE not working

2006-12-12 Thread Konrad Materka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

Hi,
I'm using Kubuntu 6.06 with latest KDE from:
deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-355 dapper main
repository.
They provide thier own hal packages, but with origal one everthing was working
fine... until latest upgrade of hal (and hal-related packeges: libhal-storage0
and libhal-storage-data).
I've had to back to packages from kde's repository (exactly this packages:
http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-355/pool-dapper/hal/ ).
The Changelog files in KDE's hal (0.5.7-1ubuntu18.1) and your from update
repository hal (0.5.7-1ubuntu18.2) differ, in KDE's changelog I can find:

hal (0.5.7-1ubuntu18.1) dapper; urgency=low

  * Install Storage scripts

so I thought that you missed tihs scripts in update.

Oh, I almost forget - I was testing this new hal packages when they were still
in experimental repository (or proposed - I don't remember the name now).
The same problem. Hopefully KDE's hal packages fixed this probably by adding
nstall Storage scripts. Now hal in update have higher number and many
people with Kubuntu will have that problem. I tested this on second computer
witch latest KDE - tha same problem. I haven't checked it yet (an probably I'll
not) on default KDE from Kubuntu.

We can talk about this issue (if you would like) at the LUGatUCF meeting.
The problem seems to be related to the SanDisk flash drive (I tried PNY
flash memory and it works flawlessly) with 2.6.12-10 kernel. I haven't
upgraded to the Dapper kernel just yet.

Regards,

Konrad

[Bug 34615] Keys on multimedia keyboard do not control volume of rear speakers.

2006-03-12 Thread Konrad Zieliński
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34615

Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Volume keys on my multimedia keyboard seem to control only Master track
in ALSA, so for example, when I press mute key, only front speakers are
silenced, while rear speakers play at the same volume. Contrary to its
name, Master track controls volume of only front speakers; PCM controls
volume of all speakers. Volume Control applet also controls Master by
default, but its possible to change it in its preferences.

In my opinion multimedia keys should control ALSA track set in
preferences of Volume Control applet and it should be PCM by default.

Also in ALSA: Master should be renamed to Front, Surround to
Rear and PCM to Master - it appears that current names are
confusing not only for users, but also for developers. Unfortunately it
requirers acceptance and cooperation with upstream ALSA developers. This
is also bug #13151.

Hardware:
- Logitech multimedia keyboard (its name varies from region to region - it is
the one that comes with MX700 mouse; I am using Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro
model in keyboard layout controls);
- nVidia nForce2 SoundStorm (on Abit NF7-S);
- Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 analog speakers.
