I have just got a similar crash on i386. Since this problem already reported here an apport doesn't attach my crash report to this thread... First of all - What version of ubuntu are you using(from the kernel version you are using I assume its intrepid)? - Is this a normal install or have you installed seperate gnome packages? - Is your gnome session working correctly? - Do you execute this on a server via ssh where there are no gnome libs available?
