[Bug 688802] [NEW] no pictures showing in emails even when setting allowing to do so
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution using 10.10 AMD64 and using Evolution 2.30.3 in Mail PreferencesHTML MessagesLoading Images radio button is set to : Always Load Images From The Internet so emails spam or legit ones, should all display images in them html formatted emails.. but instead, nothing is shown;only empty(i guess div)boxes with a small unallowed icon is shown.. and html formatted text is shown, but no pictures at all.. i see the pictures downloading and i know they are correctly downloaded because.. if i open an email in a new window, then go to: message-Edit As New Message... (i call this edit mode in this bug report) it then open it in another window and i can see the email like it should show up normally also.. when opening the email i see the pictures downloading everytime... example: i start evolution i go into a folder with an email i want to see,i select it,then i see evolution downloading the associated content to display the images etc etc.. i wait for it all to finish but message is still without images. i then click the message to open in a new window,i still don't see the images, but this time they don't get downloaded again.. then i go to: message-Edit As New Message... with the result specified above.. the email is shown with pictures instantly.. so the retrieval of pictures works. they are valid pictures and are shown normally when the email is show in edit mode the pictures do not show while in preview mode in a message window . the picture do not show while email is selected in the main window and every time i close evolution and restart it,it does download again the pictures without showing anywhere but in edit mode. i did a backtrace with GDB which is included and i did an strace which is huge(39mb) which is not included :) and here are some extra infos as well.. ~$ lsb_release -rd +Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release:10.10 ~$ apt-cache policy evolution evolution: Installed: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.1 Candidate: 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.1 Version table: *** 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.1 0 500 http://mirror.its.dal.ca/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.30.3-1ubuntu6 0 500 http://mirror.its.dal.ca/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages ask questions ,i just might answer them! [Bug 688802] Re: no pictures showing in emails even when setting allowing to do so
i'm going through the buglist and it doesn't relate to Bug #539961 (although i don't use imap in this case..) i'm also adding a screenshot of an email failing to show the images.. then i'll probably add another shot (from edit mode) which shows it working properly.. ** Attachment added: message window with an html formatted message not showing it's images https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/688802/+attachment/1762354/+files/Screenshot.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/688802 Title: no pictures showing in emails even when setting allowing to do so -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 688802] Re: no pictures showing in emails even when setting allowing to do so
ok,more screenshots,i tried a few things.. i tried to show the images loading properly in edit more and with on top in the screenshot a print preview which fails to show the pictures of that email i'm editing.. also i then after the screenshot was taken, saved the email in drafts.. when i go into drafts to open the email,it'll show the pictures until evolution is restarted.. if i restart evolution and then go into the drafts and open a copy of the email i had viewing images in edit mode prior to restarting, now it won't show images anymore.. it will download the pics from their url embedded in the email, but not display them at all... i have some screenshots of evolution downloading the said images as well.. (it surely does, otherwise they wouldnt show up in edit mode in the first place..) ** Attachment added: in the back is an email in edit mode with pictures showing,in the front is the print preview of this same email, itself not showing images.. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/688802/+attachment/1762360/+files/Screenshot-1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/688802 Title: no pictures showing in emails even when setting allowing to do so -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 674818] [NEW] evolution preferences window larger than screen resolution
Public bug reported: 1366 X768 is the (max/native)resolution on my new laptop. and evolution cannot resize the preferences window and what is worst, when i maximize the window anytime i will click on the window it will not let me select anything,it will instead just shift up and down disabling me to select anything even the unmaximize button,my only resort is to unmaximize from the contextual menu at the bottom toolbar. trying to resize it really doesn't work,it sizes up but it doesn't resize to a smaller window. it always cuts a few pixels over the close button, which is kind of annoying.. i've seen this same issue while searching, prior to creating this bug report. and the other case i've seen was because of a 6.10 config with a 800X600 resolution. (i'm refering to Question #5684) this case is somewhat different, the resolution should be big enough (isn't it ?) and i have the issue on 10.10 X64. ask questions merrily,i'll answer them when i see them :) thanks! ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- evolution preferences window larger than screen resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
