[Bug 828756] Re: getting connection is untrusted warnings

2012-03-03 Thread mikey
Hi, I think this may be a problem with the gnome-keyring not loading the
right components in non-Gnome sessions (I also don't think it's really a
bug). The different components can be viewed with:

grep Exec= /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-*.desktop

The specific component that causes a certificate problem with Empathy
appears to be pkcs11.

In XFCE starting Launch GNome Services on Startup from Advanced in
Sessions and Startup might fix it.

If you're using a Window Manager like I am that needs you to manually
start services then you can launch them with a command like:

gnome-keyring-daemon --start --components=gpg,pkcs11,secrets,ssh

[Bug 787475] [NEW] Rhythmbox [0.12.8] [0.12.5] Not Fetching Album Information From MusicBrainz

2011-05-24 Thread Mikey M
Public bug reported:

May 24th, 2011

On my two Ubuntu machines Rhythmbox is not fetching album tagging
information from MusicBrainz even though the information exists on the
MusicBrainz database. I checked with the picard program I had on the
machines. The CD lookup revealed the tagging information in picard.

Here is my machines:

Pentium D
Memory 2.9 GiB

9.10 [kernel 2.6.31-23-generic]
Rythmbox 0.12.5

libdiscid0 [Version: 0.1.0-1]
libmusicbrainz4c2a [Version: 2.1.5-2ubuntu1]
picard [Version: 0.11-2ubuntu3]

||

Core 2 Duo
Memory: 2.0 GiB

10.04 [kernel 2.6.32-31-generic]
Rythmbox 0.12.8

libdiscid0 [Version: 0.2.2-1]
picard [Version: 0.12.1-0ubuntu1]
libmusicbrainz4c2a [Version: 2.1.5-4]

I will check in over the next few weeks to provide more information if
necessary.

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Mike

Just ran the --debug command and here is the output.

This CD could not be queried: Cannot find musicbrainz pages on server. Check

2011-05-24 Thread Mikey M
The debug output says the same thing on both versions/machines.

To reproduce:

1. Insert a well known cd into the tray

2. Run rhythmbox --debug

3. Go to the CD section under the area titled Devices

4. Hit the Reload Album Information button.

5. Look at debug information.

Additionally:
I have also disabled the firewall and tried again. That method yielded the same
results.

[Bug 422012] Re: Protected files hidden by Trash

2009-09-20 Thread mikey
Hi,

I've not been able to reproduce this issue. It may have been a problem
at some previous stage or to do with some unusual permissions on the
files in question.

I will report back if I find it having happened again.

[Bug 422012] [NEW] Protected files hidden by Trash

2009-08-31 Thread mikey
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When moving files to the Trash which are belong to another user and you
don't have access to, nautilus moves the files into a folder
~/.local/share/Trash/expunged. The problem is that there is no warning
that this is happening and the location of the files is far from
obvious.

I only discovered the folder by using disk analyser and finding that
there was a massive folder in ~/.local/share/Trash/expunged. It
transpired after deleting the offending files that there had been some
70Gb worth of files!!!

Would it not make far more sense from a function point of view to move
the files into the Trash as per normal but just fail to empty them? At
least you would be able to see them and know that you needed to do
something!

[Bug 386280] [NEW] Brasero Fails to Save Cue Images

2009-06-12 Thread mikey
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

I'm using Jaunty 9.04 with brasero 2.26.1-0ubuntu1

Select to copy a CD and select disk image output and then select 'cue'
as the output type. The copy goes OK (and obviously outputs to a temp
'toc' image) but when it tries to convert the 'toc' image to a 'cue' it
crashes.

[Bug 386280] Re: Brasero Fails to Save Cue Images

2009-06-12 Thread mikey
I was making an image of one of my old PSX cds for using on an emulator
which seemed to only read CUE/BIN files.

However I thought that it at least looks bad to have an option which
crashes brasero, especially when it's a reasonable thing to be
selecting.
