[Bug 830320] [NEW] gnome-appearance-properties using 100% cpu
Public bug reported: Opening appearance dialog (system-preferences-appearance) and gnome- appearance-properties went to 98% - 100% cpu usage and remained there until manually killing the proccess. Repeated the action to be sure it was that and happend every time, except one but circunstances where the same. Closing the dialog doesn't solve it. lsb_release -rd: Description:Ubuntu 10.10 Release:10.10 gnome-control-center: Instalados: 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu2 Candidato: 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu2 Tabla de versión: *** 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status There are two gnome-appearance-properties processes; one hogging the cpu and the second sleeping. Closing the window leaves the hogging one behind (won't end it). First two times that i opened the appearance dialog, some themes won't show a preview also. After several theme switching to check if they worked this stoped happening (for this time at least). Launching gnome-appearance-properties from a terminal outputs this: (gnome-appearance-properties:12149): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_display_sync: assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed (gnome-appearance-properties:12149): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_display_sync: assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkWidget::visited-link-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value ((GString*) 0x1a59da0) of type `GString' Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkWidget::visited-link-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value ((GString*) 0x218d020) of type `GString' Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkWidget::visited-link-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value ((GString*) 0x1ebd520) of type `GString' Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkWidget::visited-link-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value ((GString*) 0x1e9f840) of type `GString' Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkWidget::visited-link-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value ((GString*) 0x1f4dc20) of type `GString' I've found the solution on Bug #147045 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+2.0/+bug/147045 on comment #15 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-30.56-generic 2.6.35.13 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-30-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Aug 20 19:41:51 2011 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-appearance-properties ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=es_UY:en LANG=es_UY.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-control-center ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/830320 Title: gnome-appearance-properties using 100% cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/830320/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 204105] Re: Duplicated dictionary source name in preference.
Well it still happends, opened gnome-dictionary as a normal user then go to edit menu and preferences, on the source tab double clic a source (for me was Diccionario de español) and then close the source properties window without changing anything. The named source will appear twice on the sources list, both selected and it won't let me erase one of them (nor one or the other). Also if gnome-dictionary is launched as root, wich i thought would give me the power to delete one source, the double source won't appear. If you have any special need of extra info feel free to contact me, i would provide what i can. Just at this moment can't figure out what else could be of use. Thanks for the time. ** Changed in: gnome-utils (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- Duplicated dictionary source name in preference. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
