Actually it also happening when compressing files with a right-click in

[Bug 700404] [NEW] Arange Items in Nautilus is Case sensitive

2011-01-08 Thread mrklister
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Selecting arange items by name sorts the files case sensitive.
For a normal user case sensitive sorting is not relevant. Therefore the sorting
should be case insensitive by default.

Example of case sensitive sorting:
family.guy.s01e02.avi
Family.Guy.S01E01.avi

should be sorted case insensitive:
Family.Guy.S01E01.avi
family.guy.s01e02.avi

[Bug 271041] Re: fullscreen-plugin should be enabled by default

2010-04-01 Thread mrklister
This feels like a defacto standard since youtube started using it on
videos. Many new users will probably try this and then get annoyed when
they want to enlarge their picture and it does not work.

Know you have to go to the menu view and then fullscreen or F11. Most of
the normal mortal people I know avoids menus and they most certanly does
not know about F11. They will think that this is a crappy application
and use another instead.

* At least show a fullscreen button with the standard fullscreen icon
that shows that this is possible. But this is maybe another bug?

[Bug 553123] [NEW] A shortcut button to show image in Fullscreen/Slidehow i missing

2010-04-01 Thread mrklister
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

The user should be able to go to fullscreen without going in to the menu view
and then selecting Fullscreen or pressing F11.
Normal users avoid menus, and they most certainly are not aware of the F11
shortcut.
Do Ubuntu want people to watch/show their pictures in Eye of gnome or not? This
is a serious usability issue as I think at least.

There should also exist a shortcut button to show the slideshow.

[Bug 553139] [NEW] In Fullscreen mode: menu containing close fullscreen not found easily

2010-04-01 Thread mrklister
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

It is not that obvious hot to reach the fullscreen menu. For me there is no
problem but for a normal user may be annoyed or not understand what to do when
there are no menus after going to fullscreen.
The way to reach the buttons are to hover the mousepointer at the top of the
screen.

I propose that the the user experience when showing photos in
fullscreen/slideshow should be the same as when showing video in fullscreen.
This means shortly that the menus should be shown as the mouse is moved. When
the user stops moving the mouse the menu should disappear after a certain
timeout as in the Video player. There should be no inconsistency that can
confuse the user.

[Bug 334125] Re: Search not showing hidden files

2009-10-11 Thread mrklister
This is a really annoying bug, don't really understand why it has not
been fixed yet.

Are most of the nautilus users beginners and don't care about hidden files?
Or are they experts that rather use the terminal?

This is to me a big usability issue and it does not sound to hard to fix
(correct me if I'm wrong). People that comes from windows will most certainly
get pissed when they don't understand why they don't find their files. They may
even think that the search engine does not work properly in nautilus.
Therefore it should have a high priority.
