I encounter the same bug with his. The movie player splits vertically
down into two displays, the upper one is fully black, the lower one only
can be seen of one cm height at its top, most image of which is below
the screen. And the sound is not stable. When plays a song of mp3, it
has to pause for half a sec several times to wait the cpu to catch up.
And my cpu is not so bad PD805 (by the way, would you please make a
program, such as fan conditioner on Windows, made by BIOSTAR, to fix
that huge noise the original fans brings?

In my perspective, I download every updates in the software manager I
can get, with a wish I could be able to see most kinds of movies. But
only brings this bug or conflict, without enjoying the success of
watching movies on Ubuntu.
