this issue is still with us in intrepid

btw,
what is the sense of reporting here anything
if i have to report it upstream too ?

yes, this issue is still with us.

can you fix it on your own ?
it looks so little fix - reverse the icons in rtl mode
that i imagined you people could fix it and send it upstream too.
or should i (really) report this upstream ?

i think... 800x600 - both, upper and bottom panels ?
(since, it will not overlap them)

we (in the educational system) have many system with old 800x600

[Bug 222643] Re: removable medias mounted for every user logged

2008-11-10 Thread nadavkav
i confirm this behavior for mounting usb camera too.

when i switch to other users (after a session of mounting and unmounting of a
usb camera)
i see left over dialogs from the times when i plugged in the camera (on the
previous user)
the camera is no longer connected (physically) . actually, they are confused...
when switching to their desktop and faced with those dialogs.

i think, pluggable mounted devices should display auto-mount-dialogs for
the current user only.

maybe? another related issue/bug...
if i plug the camera on some user's session and then move to some other user's
session
i get dbus error. and when i move back to the first user's session i see the
auto-mount-dialog
still open on the desktop.
only when i move through all the open user's sessions on the system and close
all the redundant dialogs
i can mount the camera successfully on the user's session.

bar
does not show up when there are more pictures then the viewable area can hold.

[Bug 294084] [NEW] logout hangs gdm (when several users are logged in)

i have one user auto login. then i open two more users and i am able to switch
between them easily.
now, when i logout one of the users...gdm hangs (i think) mouse is functioning

i get blank screen (not black) and i can only hard reset to restart the

[Bug 288132] Re: f-spot fullscreen forward and backward are reversed in hebrew rtl UI

2008-10-27 Thread nadavkav
for rtl (hebrew) UI, i think the order of icons should be a little
different.

1. forward (arrow pointing to the left) , play (triangle pointing to the
left) , backwards (arrow pointing to the right)

since the entire UI flow of rtl users is right to left, i think the PLAY button
should point to the left
and the forward arrow too ( as i see in many applications, ex. firefox ) BUT
maybe the universal
convention of PLAY is an icon of a play button pointing to the right ?
anyways, the UI flow should be right to left.

2. the exit icon is half off bar.

3. the entire bar should be centred ? or justified to the right ?

1. arrows should reverse themselves and stay put.

2. maybe the PLAY icon should reverse and point to the left
according to the UI flow of an rtl interface ?

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

when in fullscreen mode and using hebrew rtl UI
the forward and backward buttons are displayed in reverse order
and the exit (X) as almost... not visible.

i guess the entire navigation panel/toolbar should be justified to the right
or set into rtl mode (some how)

and a little usability issue...
the return from fullscreen button should be slitely moved apart from the reset
of the buttons or placed in a more sensible position.

yes :-(

thou, i use ALT + left mouse click to move around the dialogue.
(it is my father's computer and he was unable to use it, until i showed him

you should probably make sure (some how) that all system dialogues are fully

i work in many (50) schools and they have old monitors that are unable to go

we have a P3 450Mhz (512MB) slow machine that takes a minute or so to
display a full working desktop (gnome) after we choose the login user.
in this time we just look at an empty screen with no visual indication
of any login progress. suddenly we here the login sound (which is
redundant, especially if we want to optimize stuff) but it stays
(visually) the same until half a minute later it start showing the
desktop's toolbars...

please see if you can enable some minimal desktop is load...
indication. (change the cursor, maybe?)

kindly,
