Following the comment of Brian Cameron on http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=495623. Will be nice if someone can confirm it to work on ipv6 system. ** Attachment removed: a fixed patch http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10379110/gdm_ipv6.patch ** Attachment added: Fixed patch http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10379584/gdm_ipv6.patch -- Ipv6 enabled gdm can't get host correctly in ipv4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 162678] Ipv6 enabled gdm can't get host correctly in ipv4
Public bug reported: When running ipv6 enabled gdm on ipv4 you get: gdm[14762]: DEBUG: gdm_peek_local_address_list: Could not get address from hostname! This causes gdm not to add the right hostname to the xauthority file. The problem is daemon/misc.c where the hint is only ipv6 when enabled. Attached a patch that fix it on my machine, but I didn't check it on ipv6 and I'm not sure that is the right way to fix it. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ipv6 enabled gdm can't get host correctly in ipv4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
