[Bug 775682] [NEW] Desktop sharing in Empathy in 11.04 disabled when chatting with Empathy in 10.04

2011-05-02 Thread otakuj462
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

A friend of mine has been using Ubuntu 10.04. Because he has some newer
hardware, I recommended that he upgrade from 10.04 to 11.04, which fixes
some issues. I'm still using Ubuntu 10.04, and we typically use the
screen sharing feature in Empathy to allow me to remotely log into his
machine and fix things when needed.

Unfortunately, now that he's upgraded, it seems that, when he chats with
me using Empathy, the Share My Desktop menu item on his end is
disabled. However, when I use 11.04, his Share My Desktop option is
enabled, and works as expected. Furthermore, when I'm in 10.04 and he is
in 11.04, I can invite him to share my desktop, and this also works as
expected.

From a user's perspective, then, it seems that the upgrade from Empathy
in 10.04 to 11.04 broke backwards compatibility between the screen
sharing feature of these two versions of Empathy, such that the newer
version cannot invite the older version to share the newer version's
desktop.

[Bug 581048] [NEW] rhythmbox imports duplicate entries into library

2010-05-15 Thread otakuj462
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox creates duplicate entries in its library for individual audio
files when importing files from my Music directory.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Uncheck the watch this directory for updates option in preferences.
2. Remove all entries from the Library, so that it is in a clean state.
3. Import Music folder.

After finishing scanning, many duplicate entries may be found in the
rhythmbox library. It also reports the total size of the library as
64.2GB, when du reports it as 37GB.

This also may occur when perfoming the following steps:

1. Remove all entries from the Library, so that it is in a clean state.
1. Ensure that watch this directory for updates option in preferences is
checked.
3. Choose the folder to watch (Music), in order to start rescanning of
collection.

Actually, this bug should be marked as invalid. There was a symlink in
Music pointing to another music directory, so in fact, rhythmbox was
acting correctly.

[Bug 434893] [NEW] 15 seconds after beginning test call, audio stops, and ekiga refuses to terminate call or quit

2009-09-22 Thread otakuj462
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ekiga

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start Ekiga.
2. Call Echo test.
3. Wait 15 seconds. This length of time is always the same.

Audio will at this point stop. Attempting to terminate the call fails,
and the red phone simply hangs in a depressed position. Terminating the
application through the window manager also fails, and must be
terminated using pkill ekiga.

I'm not ready to upgrade my system, so I guess I'll have to wait for
the backport. A backport would be very useful, as Hardy is an LTS
release, and I'm sure there are still many Hardy installs in
deployment.

[Bug 370677] Re: Ekiga launcher does not appear in KDE4 Launcher menu after installation

2009-05-02 Thread otakuj462
OK, I can confirm this now. The icon I was looking at was the Ekiga icon
in the system tray. There is no Ekiga icon in the KDE4 menu.
