[Bug 1310963] [NEW] /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/xsettings/rgba-order suggests invalid value RGBA

2014-04-22 Thread pdknsk
Public bug reported:

Open dconf-editor and navigate to the path mentioned in the summary. It
suggests the following values.

rgba
rgb
bgr
vrgb
vbgr

The first option is invalid and should be none.

http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/XSettingsRegistry/
https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/GtkSettings.html#GtkSettings--gtk-xft-rgba

Key /com/canonical/unity-greeter/xft-rgba also shows the correct
possible values.

Another way to set.

$ dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/xsettings/rgba-order 'rgba'
$ grep rgba (xrdb -query)
Xft.rgba: rgba

This can confuse some applications, maybe worse.

[Bug 1232454] Re: Computer will suspend very soon because of inactivity. dialog when resuming from suspend

2014-01-18 Thread pdknsk
IMO there are three separate bugs here.

The first bug is the dialog itself. Why is there such a dialog? It's not
necessary.
The second bug is that the dialog sometimes prevents suspend from working.
And the third bug is the dialog not closing itself when the system resumes.
This is merely cosmetic but makes Ubuntu look amateurish.

The easiest solution is to completely remove the dialog.

2013-06-13 Thread pdknsk
Public bug reported:

When you have an image with an embedded ICC profile, nautilus simply

noticed this in two occasions.

2. Wallpapers.

I'm not sure nautilus is responsible for the latter. I also reported is
a Unity bug.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1187352

To reproduce this, extract both images from the attached archive. The
first picture has an embedded profile, the other was converted to the
standard sRGB color space with the profile stripped.

Open both images in a profile aware image viewer, such as eog. There is
no color difference.

Then go to the folder where you stored them, switch to icon view and let
nautilus automatically make thumbnails. Use Ctrl+ till you have maximum
thumbnail size. You will notice that the original picture with profile
is less vibrant, and green in particular is more yellowish.
