This is very similar to bug #454297. The only difference I have is that nautilus can sometime view some of the files as well as none of the files. Also this is for amd64 and not i386. My folders all contain audio and video files but the folders are not exceptionally large (only 4 files totalling 3gb in one case) To echo what 2541 said on the forum thread though it does seem to be after moving files to the folder the problem occurs. [Bug 482905] [NEW] nautilus folder not displaying full contents
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I performed a clean install of 9.10 64 bit. Now when I open certain folders the contents can be displayed correctly but when re-entering the same folder minutes later either none or only part of the contents is visible. Nautilus is still trying to read the remaining files but I can leave half an hour or so and it still gets no further.
