[Bug 1857383] Re: Fractional scaling does not work anymore
Thanks Thomas. I agree bug 1874559 seems more pertinent, I didn't notice it. [Bug 1874559] Re: Fractional Scaling resets after reboot
I'm copying my comment from bug 1857383 as I think this one is more pertinent. I'm on xorg, you can find the apport information in bug 1857383 starting comment #22. Using the NVIDIA driver I was affected by bug 1870736 and bug 1873403. I moved to the Nouveau drivers and the issues above were gone. However, I notice a strange issue with display settings persistence. I have 2 screens (HDMI3-3 FHD, DP-1 4K primary), which I'd like to have respectively at 100% and 150% scale: $ xrandr | grep " connected" DP-1 connected primary 5120x2880+3840+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 607mm x 345mm HDMI-3 connected 3840x2160+0+302 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 160mm x 90mm Whenever I set the 4K screen to 150% scale, any changes won't persist after reboot. If I change any other settings (like changing screen positions), leave scale as 100%, the changes I make do persist on reboot. If after reboot I attempt to set 4K screen to 150% not only the change won't persist after reboot, but it will go back to the initial state (effectively undoing the previous changes too). How do I reproduce the issue: 1) Ensure my system is on Nouveau drivers 2) HDMI-3 (FHD) is currently on the right, DP-1 (4K) on the left 3) Display settings, swap screen positions: HDMI-3 (FHD) on the left, DP-1 (4K) on the right 4) Reboot 5) Verify changes persisted: HDMI-3 (FHD) is on the left, DP-1 (4K) on the right 6) Set DP-1 scale to 150% 7) Reboot 8) Verify not only changes didn't persist, but the status is back as 2), with screens going back to their original position -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874559 Title: Fractional Scaling resets after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1874559/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1793595] Re: [radeon] Shell freezes, mostly when running chrome or editing text files.
I can confirm this bug is an upstream bug. I moved from Ubuntu to Fedora for this reason but it's still present even on the latest Fedora 30 with kernel 5.0.17. Gnome shell (xorg or wayland) freezes mostly when using Chrome, I can't get Sys info during the freeze because keyboard and mouse aren't responding. No issues on KDE Plasma desktop. Tested on my work laptop (above 8 hours daily activity), Gnome freezes 4/5 times a day. Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260/M265 / M340/M360 / M440/M445] (rev c1) It also happens on my home desktop PC with Radeon HD7000. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1793595 Title: [radeon] Shell freezes, mostly when running chrome or editing text files. [Bug 1726688] Re: totem media player in the Ubuntu dock right click menu does not work, rewind does not work, nor full screen works
I made some debugging about this issue. It is due to the action names in the .desktop file not corresponding to the DBus actions of totem, plus the mute action isn't among the one implemented in totem. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 872044 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/872044 It is not a duplicated bug. Essentially I get the same problem with my Nokia phone and Bluetooth (Lenovo T400 laptop). I have activeted metacity composite support (on gconf-editor turn on compositing_manager key). All work fine, windows has shadow, terminal transparency work. With Totem if a play a video or i'm playing a song with visual effects shadows are not correct when over the video. They are like a solid black box. Transparency doesn't work at all (over the video). [Bug 70023] Re: Cannot print multiple copies of PDF files
I've opened a pdf document and clicked on print , I choose to print 2..3..4...(1) copies of this single page document. Despite of the number of copies I've selected only one sheet is printed! As I previously explained thisd bug is not happening with all files, but only with PostScript files. In this case the document infos reports PS-Adobe-3.0 as format. Maybe you should check that the new package has been compiled with support for libspectre as stated in upstream fix. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443859#c8 -- Cannot print multiple copies of PDF files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/70023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 70023] Re: Cannot print multiple copies of PDF files
Well... I'm talking about a PostScript file (PS-Adobe-3.0). ATM I have NO issue with PDF files. I'm not the first reporter of this bug and I can't be sure that it's only related to PS files. Do I have to change the title to Cannot print multiple copies of PS files? [Bug 70023] Re: Cannot print multiple copies of PDF files
I think you didn't understand the problem. The upstream bug that is linked to this is reported by me, and it tals about postscript documents. What I said is that I am not sure that this bug is only related to PS documents. In my case it is, but if you read the upstream bug you can understand that for other people the problem is with PDFs. Unfortunately, some files downloaded from the web with .pdf extension are in reality .ps . So it is difficult to say whether these are two different bugs or not. In each case the alert was made upstream so if you can leave the bug closed. [Bug 196157] Re: [hardy] totem-xine dvb playback no channels list
I can confirm that the bug is not fixed. I've installed Intrepid on my system but I can't test totem 2.23.x because there is a regression in the kernel and my dvb device is not recognized atm.
