Re: [Bug 602999] Re: LCD backlight does not turn off when inactive

I would say that this is the same bug as 371195. I can confirm that
the back-light on my laptop never goes out. Though the screen saver
(whatever I choose) engages when it's supposed to, the back-light
never turns off, even after 40 minutes.

[Bug 58075] Re: Freezes when adding LPD net printer on 64 bit

2006-12-19 Thread sportrider
I get exactly the same problem on Edgy fresh install trying to add a
Lexmark Postscript printer on a remote LPD.

I added the printer as local, and that worked fine. I went back to the
printer properties and changed the connection to network LPD and entered
the IP address and queue name. Saved the configuration but printing
still did not work.

When I checked the printer properties again the queue name was missing.
I re-added it several times but it was never saved properly.

I went into /etc/cups/ and edited printers.conf directly to apped the
queue name to the URI like so:

I made

DeviceURI lpd://192.168.0.1/

look like

DeviceURI lpd://192.168.0.1/lp

and now my printer works.
