[Bug 1262962] Re: Nautilus Segmentation fault when starting
I can get this to work if i add the no desktop flag: nautilus --no-desktop It would seem to be related to something with the desktop then? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1262962 Title: Nautilus Segmentation fault when starting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1262962/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1262962] [NEW] Nautilus Segmentation fault when starting
Public bug reported: What I expected to happen: I start nautilus and it remains open so I can look at my files. What happens instead: I start nautilus and it opens and then closes in about a half second. It reports a segmentation fault at the command line. bloodred@sif:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 13.10 Release:13.10 bloodred@sif:~$ nautilus --version GNOME nautilus 3.8.2 bloodred@sif:~$ apt-cache policy nautilus nautilus: Installed: 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2.1 Candidate: 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2.1 Version table: *** 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages When I run it from the terminal I get this: bloodred@sif:~$ nautilus (nautilus:3290): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nautilus:3290): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed *** longjmp causes uninitialized stack frame ***: nautilus terminated === Backtrace: = /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x5c)[0x7ffa8a98b08c] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(+0x111f9d)[0x7ffa8a98af9d] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__longjmp_chk+0x33)[0x7ffa8a98af03] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5cddf)[0x7ffa884d1ddf] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5ce6c)[0x7ffa884d1e6c] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5cf44)[0x7ffa884d1f44] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5d1cf)[0x7ffa884d21cf] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5d9dd)[0x7ffa884d29dd] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(FT_Outline_Decompose+0x44a)[0x7ffa884860da] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5dce3)[0x7ffa884d2ce3] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5e01d)[0x7ffa884d301d] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5ca8e)[0x7ffa884d1a8e] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(+0x5cc7f)[0x7ffa884d1c7f] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreetype.so.6(FT_Render_Glyph_Internal+0xa3)[0x7ffa8848a0b3] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0xb34c3)[0x7ffa8ce5d4c3] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x63218)[0x7ffa8ce0d218] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x938b8)[0x7ffa8ce3d8b8] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x7c754)[0x7ffa8ce26754] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x7c960)[0x7ffa8ce26960] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x26b0f)[0x7ffa8cdd0b0f] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x97850)[0x7ffa8ce41850] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x6b553)[0x7ffa8ce15553] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x6fb4c)[0x7ffa8ce19b4c] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x70325)[0x7ffa8ce1a325] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x6b553)[0x7ffa8ce15553] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(+0x2f239)[0x7ffa8cdd9239] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcairo.so.2(cairo_show_glyphs+0x22)[0x7ffa8cdcbf82] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0(+0x7da3)[0x7ffa8d50fda3] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0(+0x80b4)[0x7ffa8d5100b4] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpango-1.0.so.0(pango_renderer_draw_glyphs+0x3f)[0x7ffa8d0dabcf] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0(pango_cairo_show_glyph_string+0x94)[0x7ffa8d510314] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpango-1.0.so.0(pango_renderer_draw_glyphs+0x3f)[0x7ffa8d0dabcf] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpango-1.0.so.0(pango_renderer_draw_layout_line+0x4a8)[0x7ffa8d0db558] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpango-1.0.so.0(pango_renderer_draw_layout+0x115)[0x7ffa8d0db8b5] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x1c4651)[0x7ffa8dd90651] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x1124b5)[0x7ffa8dcde4b5] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x111765)[0x7ffa8dcdd765] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x255c90)[0x7ffa8de21c90] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(gtk_render_layout+0x11d)[0x7ffa886d] nautilus[0x49a2c0] nautilus[0x49a61f] nautilus[0x4de49c] nautilus[0x4df131] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x18c48e)[0x7ffa8dd5848e] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x2ace80)[0x7ffa8de78e80] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0(+0x103b7)[0x7ffa8b68e3b7] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit_valist+0x442)[0x7ffa8b6a6e82] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0(g_signal_emit+0x82)[0x7ffa8b6a7ae2] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(+0x2ae08e)[0x7ffa8de7a08e] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(gtk_widget_send_expose+0x145)[0x7ffa8de85415] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0(gtk_main_do_event+0x692)[0x7ffa8dd582b2] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgdk-3.so.0(+0x39311)[0x7ffa8d970311] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgdk-3.so.0(+0x39340)[0x7ffa8d970340] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgdk-3.so.0(+0x39340)[0x7ffa8d970340] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgdk-3.so.0(+0x39340)[0x7ffa8d970340]
