[Bug 549123] Re: GDM no longer contains gnome.
Looking at it: sudo apt-get install gnome-desktop-environment (NOT Essentials) Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following NEW packages will be installed: brasero dasher dasher-data deskbar-applet desktop-base gnome-accessibility gnome-applets gnome-backgrounds gnome-core gnome-desktop-environment gnome-disk-utility gnome-netstatus-applet gnome-session gnome-themes gok gvfs-backends gvfs-bin hamster-applet libgdu-gtk0 libswfdec-0.8-0 nautilus python-beagle swfdec-gnome Those packages SHOULD NOT have been removed with the upgrade. [Bug 549123] [NEW] GDM no longer contains gnome.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm After an upgrade to beta, GDM no longer has an option for GNOME despite GNOME being installed. Using gdm, I can select only KDE or Xterm. If I want to use gnome, I need to choose xterm and run gnome-session and metacity manually. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- GDM no longer contains gnome. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549123 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 367661] Re: evolution will not open links in email
I too have the same problem on a machine running Jaunty. I have not compiled any custom software, just used apt. When I try to open some sites, it fails if the email consists of radio button links. It also appears as gedit in GNOME-Do and the right-click menu as well as the open with... dialog. it doesn't say text editor in those places at all, just gedit.
