I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 and still cannot paste with the middle mousebutton. 1) Right-click on desktop and chose: Create document- New Document - Empty File. 2) Open the new file with gedit and type some text. 3) Select the text with the mouse cursor and left-click after the text. 4) Then press the middle-mouse button to paste the text. Nothing happens when I complete step 4). I does not work in my version either (Ubuntu 7.10 gedit 2.20.3).
