[Bug 526641] Re: dbus does not report any PowerManagment messages

2010-10-02 Thread ybaruss
Please, if you experienced this problem with 10.04Lucid can you provide:

* The output of upower --dump with AC disconnected/connected in both
case: dis/connected before boot or dis/connection under session open ?

* Do command: gconftool-2 --recursive-list /apps/gnome-power-manager
gpm.gconf.values.txt
and attach file gpm.gconf.values.txt ?

Many thanks

[Bug 648042] [NEW] File autolaunch association lost when alacarte move/delete items

2010-09-26 Thread ybaruss
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alacarte

When sorting out software items with alacarte, the auto-launch
association of a file is lost.

That is what to do to see the bug:
Install KmPlot package from softwarestore and you'll see it with an icon all
correct in Education submenu of Application on panel.
Make a plot and save a .fkt file somewhere.
In explorer the auto-launch association is not done and if you try to set it
you see it is not being proposed even if in alacarte you can see it.
With the explorer tool create a new auto-launch association entry with
command kmplot for the .fkt file you created: you will see that a new entry
is proposed in explorer menu but without correct icon and in alacarte there is
now a new entry also with no icon in Other sub section.
Now close explorer and in alacarte drag and drop the kmplot auto-launch
association entry from Other to Education. Because the drag and drop action
has copied the entry, delete the one in Other section.
Now open explorer and try to double-click on the .fkt file you previously
have associated to kmplot : it is lost.

I would expect that:
Explorer auto-launch association menu would display software available the
same as alacarte.
Also that alacarte would not break auto-launch association set with Explorer
when sorting them.

$ apt-cache policy alacarte

[Bug 23768] Re: /usr/bin/cpufreq-selector should have different access permissions

2010-09-09 Thread ybaruss
Hello, just to say that not only geeks care about cpufreq-selector but
experience revealed that I need it to be more performant and accurate.
Actually my laptop is overheating when OnDemande mode is set (I suppose
because fan control is not adapted but I didn't manage to know yet).
Anyway, I also don't understand why not another setuid root
application is so awful that they should avoid it but I just say that
it may be interesting to put it as a feature to normal ubuntu users.
