[Bug 269857] [NEW] evolution lost all tasks

2008-09-13 Thread yetiARC
Public bug reported:

Evolution 2.22.3.1, Ubuntu Hardy

Evolution gave me an error like tasks have to be closed and cannot be
opened until Evolution has been restarted. After closing and opening
Evolution, there was another error similar to the one before, concerning
my calendars. I closed Evo, shut down Ubuntu, restarted Ubuntu,
restarted Evo. Calendars were OK again, but all tasks had disappeared.

I opened /home/[user]/.evolution/tasks/local/system/tasks.ics with
KOrganizer and found all my tasks were actually still there, only Evo
didn't seem to find them. I tried to import tasks.ics into Evolution
using the Import Assistant, but the tasks did still not appear in
evolution.

[Bug 104807] Re: Support for Videos

2008-09-09 Thread yetiARC
I like F-Spot, but as the typical family snapshot photographer, I need be able
to watch the occasional video, too.
Funny thing is that F-Spot does show thumbnails of the avi vids, when it
downloads the files from my camera (canon powershot). Why can't it show the
same thumbnails later, and use an external viewer to play the videos. Digikam
does this easily, so I had to switch to Digikam. Please give me video support
in F-Spot and I'll switch back.

did you read the previous comments? the previous setup was not really
secure, you can set a blank password for your gnome-keyring if you don't
careabout security though but ubuntu is not going to change back to
a non secure default

What an attitude! Perhaps evolution is not the right email client for
me.

Sebastien: why not just make entering a password an OPTION in Evolution?
Make it a default choice, but please give the Average Joe an easy way to
uncheck the option.
