Public bug reported:

When I change to 70-yes-bitmaps-fonts and update, I still can't chose
the correct font in gnome terminal. "Fixed" shows up, but I get the
"normal" typeface instead of the semicondensed that I desire. There's no
way to select that particular weight (only bold aso). As I live in the
terminal and find it well nigh unusable without 6x13, this is a bit of a
dealbreaker.
