Public bug reported:

Changes in both the Acceleration and Sensitivity options have no effect
on the speed of the pointer.  The pointer moves at the same speed with
the Acceleration slider set to both the minimum and maximum values.  I
would expect the pointer speed to change when changing these settings.

I'm using a Logitech MX510 USB mouse.
