It still happens on precise. I doubt this is getting fixed. Where can I get these plugins that are not yet installed. I did not find them in the SPM. Open gconf-editor and find the key I mentioned above. I set it to autovideosink (one of the possible video sinks available) and afterwards gstreamer-properties opens up again and you can choose a different sink. Thanx! That did the trick. I changed this value previously to try to fix some colour issue in Movie Player. It didn't really work so I installed VLC player (which worked fine). I went back to gstream-properties to clear out that field and was too lazy to put autovideolink bank in and paid for it. Spent hours looking for the configuration file to modify, as gstream-properties would segmentation fault. Thanx for your help again. I think I found the problem. The GConf key system-gstreamer-0.10-default-videosink was empty.
