Thanks again

inquiry.

[Bug 116329] Re: Login screen missing when login reconfigured

2007-05-23 Thread Martin Pitt
Tentatively setting to gdm for now, and removing security flag (that's
not a security vulnerability at all).

What is thread #6130? Can you please give us an URL for this? Can you
please describe how you get to that problem in more detail? (picked too
many parameters)

Thank you!

Re: [Bug 116329] Re: Login screen missing when login reconfigured

2007-05-23 Thread Al
Martin,

Thanks for writing back, it's very much appreciated.

The URL is
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/6130

Many Login Window Preferences were changed. I'm not
sure exactly what parameters were set but I cahnged
the Image Logo to ghome-suse.png, I also set the
welcome message and the style was plain with face
browser. I allowed users to change fonts and colors
and allowed the background image to be shown to remote
users.
One thing is for sure, the problem occured after the
Login Windows Preferences were altered.

I respectfully differ on the security issue. If anyone
can come in to my office, turn on my PC and start
using my computer without a password, that's a
security issue. I have a few decades of computer
networking under my belt. It may not be a
vulnerability per say, however, this instability
results in network and application access.

I'm all for the project. Let me know what eles I can
do to help, however, I've given you all I know about
this issue. UNIX is something I haven't touched in 5
years.

Al
