[Bug 1171394] Re: search fails when using wildcard (*.* or *.jpg...)

2013-04-22 Thread Nate
I may be wrong, but it seems like you can get the results you're after
by searching .jpg if you want to see all the .jpg files. The * seems
unnecessary, even though it's usage is very widespread in other
computer-related searches. Am I misunderstanding the situation?

 Title:
search fails when using wildcard (*.* or *.jpg...)

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
   New

 Bug description:
When trying to locate certain file(s) of specific feature such as the
extension of the file in any folder, using wildcard such as *.* or
*.jpg or dot any extension, the result will be a blank search page !

This goes for folders under the partition of ubuntu and for any folder
in the windows partition if activated from the Ubuntu environment.

Expected: When searching for a certain file extension the search
windows after processing should come up with the result of list of
files required or a message that no file(s) found.

what happens: the system will start searching showing the search
working note, then the search page is remained blanck after finish
with no result or a note that no files found.
