Since the original bug can't be reproduced and according to comments from the upstream authors of brasero, I set the status of the bug to fix released. Concerning the new bug you reproduced from within the LiveCD, I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that some drives are locked when you are on the LiveCD, but if you can have more information and reproduce that bug, it would be very great if you open another bug report and that you attach a backtrace and a valgrind, as described in this wiki section https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash. Hi Saïvann, The original bug was that Brasero dialog said that the size is being calculated. And that lasted forever. I haven't seen that problem anymore in the last version. So I think that one is resolved. So this morning I enabled gutsy backports (so not using the live CD anymore) and tried to burn 15 MP3's to an audio CD. That worked without a flaw. Still a bit slower than K3b. But no problems. Then I threw in that directory I told you about yesterday. 51 burnable items. That worked also... So I think that is good news. Brasero is still a fine program for less- geek users... I will install it this week for somebody. So I think the bug of yesterday is only in the Live CD or in Hardy A5... I will ask my colleague if we have a PC that can run the Alpha on a hard-drive. But we are also testing some Debian stuff... so I don't know if we have anything available. Let me know if you wish to track the new bug in the live cd. Barry de Graaff : Thanks for these detailed informations. From what you say, you don't seem to describe the same symptoms as the initial bug report. Does brasero crash during the burning process or during the importation of files? Since brasero crash with a segmentation fault, I think that you should open another bug report describing that issue with a lot of details including exactly what you did to reproduce the bug. I may also follows directions here to create a backtrace and a valgrind which will greatly help developers to fix the issue : https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash Concerning this bug report, can you try with just 4-10 mp3 files to see if the initial bug can be reproduced? The initial bug was brasero that waited infinitively during the burning process when the fluendo codec is installed. I select a folder on my desktop and add that folder to a new audio compilation, then Brasero does a directory search. It says something about padding short tracks- click a couple of ten times OK. Then the window gets grey. (reproduce able every time) removing non audio files does not change a thing. I don' t know what you' re role is in the development of Brasero, but it would also be nice if there was a friendly way to install gstreamer-fluendo-mp3 or something comparable.
