[Bug 162449] Re: Logout is restarting whole X thing

2008-09-26 Thread Magnus Lundborg
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 149330 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149330

Looking at the logs I can see that X is restarting after a log out.
Personally I do not see the console output on the computer I'm using
right now, but I'm quite sure I've seen it before.

I am marking this as a duplicate of Bug 149330 since they report the
same problem.

2008-03-28 Thread Dominic Baranski
I get the same thing.

After logging out the system drops into a console for a split second.
There doesn't seem to be any log output that would be of value either.
That or I'm not checking in the right places..

I'm on a HP Pavilion dv4170ca Laptop.

2008-03-27 Thread Fred
Hello, yes I still experience this behavior.
Don't you?

When you press the Logout button, does the computer not switch video
mode, and you see a black screen for a second, then it start X back
again?

2008-03-26 Thread Basilio Kublik
Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with
the development version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron?

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 162449] Re: Logout is restarting whole X thing

2008-01-07 Thread Fred
When I logout, the screen goes black, then it prints couple lines of text, like
5-6, where it says something like;
* Starting...
It goes too fast for me to be able to read it.

Like, I run 1280x1024 in graphics mode X, then when I click logout, it
puts computer into 640x480 in console mode, prints 5 lines of text, then
back to graphics mode.

If you press Ctrl+Shift+Backspace then you will see and feel the same as
me. Because that is what happens.

2008-01-05 Thread jtholmes
thank you for taking the time to file a report

You said you are kicked back to console could you elaborate.

The normal behavior or log out is
Remove the normal X display and and make the screen black for a few seconds
then bring up the login screen.

This sounds like what you are getting.
However, different video react differently and my flash more or less when the
screen is black, prior to the Login screen being repainted.
