[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
I'm using intrepid ibex alpha 5 (plus updates). I'm having tracker disabled in the preferencessession menu. But at every system start trackerd gets started as well. As far as I remember I didn't have trouble with this in hardy. So I reopen this as a new bug. ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
I forgot to mention that there is a .config/autostart/trackerd.desktop file which contains the X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false line -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
gnome-session has been rewritten in intrepid, don't reopen closed bugs which concern different versions only because you have a similar issue in the new one ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
Why not? For me it is the same problem. What does the information about the rewrite change? There is a problem which is there regardless the fact if it has been reintroduced by patch or by rewrite. And it is exactly the same problem as described in this report. I can't find any version information in this ticket and I can't possibly know about a rewrite. So what is your suggestion again? Closing the bug without reopening another one that fits you better? That means, I have to wait for the next rewrite and hope that the bug won't be reintroduced then? -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
you don't need to know about gnome-session being rewritten in intrepid but could you open a new bug rather than reopening this one, that will things clearer to have a new bug concerning the intrepid version and a clear description than an old bugs which quite some comments which has been closed and reopened -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
This has been confirmed by some users on the forum if it's what you want to know. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=568995 If the autostart file is doing is job despites the presence of the item in the session file then this is not an issue but more an unusual way to handle this. I mean that i already checked that items unchecked in the session setting window are well put to X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false in the corresponding .desktop files (which BTW are not recognized in nautilus for weird reason). Anyway it's been a long time this bug report has been posted and i don't have time to test things anymore for the moment so maybe this bug report can be closed as i won't be able to provide you more information than the one i have already provided in the near future. To conclude this bug seems a bit painless for me and i would have really preferred that the other one i have reported about gnome-session have been answered and fixed has the problem is more serious and the fix simple. [Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
Thanks for your report, Which version of Ubuntu are you using? If you disable an application it should create an entry at ~/.config/autostart/something.desktop with a X-GNOME-Autostart- enabled=false entry on it, what do you have in there?, thanks. ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New = Incomplete -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 162831] Re: system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file
I'm using gutsy gibbon and the autostart enable is at false in the bluetooth-applet.desktop file which correspond to the item i unchecked. If the item is well disabled what is the point to keep it as entry in the session files (my session file is linked in this post) ? ** Attachment added: session http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10442239/session -- system preference sessions unchecked items still appear in session file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
