[Bug 1767542] Re: Turning off WiFi enables Airplane mode

2022-02-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I am unable to duplicate this issue on Ubuntu 22.04. Maybe this was
fixed in gnome-control-center 40.

[Bug 1767542] Re: Turning off WiFi enables Airplane mode

2022-02-23 Thread Nico Stöckigt
This bug has quite a big impact but seems to be easy to fix. By this
means 4 years is a looong time. 20.04 LTS, 21.04, 21.10 still have this
issue - will 22.04 too?

Seriously, when will this be fixed?

[Bug 1767542] Re: Turning off WiFi enables Airplane mode

2021-03-08 Thread Evan Royal
Will this ever get fixed? I need wifi for phone calls sometimes. I get
all the settings juuust right, then bam! Airplane mode. Just for no
reason. I have set it to not save power, ever, for any reason, done the
tweaks. But my settings go back to default after a restart. For some
this not a minor bug. Please don't push me to Windows.

2020-04-13 Thread Gipsz Jakab
I'm having a desktop system where the wifi is disabled from the bios,
and the airplane mode is constantly enabled.

This in turn makes it near impossible to use a bluetooth headset, or
anything bluetooth.

Ubuntu Focal Fossa (development branch)

Need a fix.

[Bug 1767542] Re: Turning off WiFi enables Airplane mode

2019-05-07 Thread Ufos92
Ubuntu devs are still dreaming that the OS will conquer "Chromebook"
world, and will be running on tablets as well. Obviously, if a user
turns of wifi, it's not because they most likely docked their notebook,
no, it's because they're on an airplane with their tablet and need the
airplane mode.

[Bug 1767542] Re: Turning off WiFi enables Airplane mode

2018-05-02 Thread Slavic Dragovtev
I'm not sure what that meant. Could you rephrase? Note that the issue is
that the user turns OFF Wi-Fi, but the system turns ON Airplane mode.

An analogy would be one wants to flush the toilet, but the computer
turns off the lights, instead. Perhaps some of the goals are
accomplished either way, but it's definitely not a good user experience.

How is that an important issue? It's a best confusing but whether no
wifi/bluetooth is showed as equivalent to be in airplane mode or not is
just a visual clue being displayed one way or another
