The clicking out of a snap and returning is probably the same issue in that we don't detect if an external client installs/removes snaps. This is not easy to solve without snapd providing an efficient means of notifying this (LP: #1768418). We could poll snapd, which is the same effect as running 'snap changes' on the command line. But this would have gnome-software (a long running process) constantly polling snapd. Thank you for your bug report. Could you add a 'journalctl -b 0' log from a session having the issue?
