[Bug 1956235] Re: Pointer Location (which uses Ctrl key) conflicts with other Ctrl-based shortcuts

Yes I did test Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V. All work as expected for me in
20.04. Pointer location only occurs if I release Ctrl without having
pressed any other key.

But I use a simple US layout. Maybe bug 1872230 occurs for you and
others due to other layouts.

I've just found an alternative to Pointer Location -- Jiggle extension.
I'll give it a try.

Daniel, did you check whether Ctrl+C, Ctrl-V, etc. work when Pointer
Location option is enabled? I cannot understand it from your post.

Maybe the bug only occurs with non-US keyboard layouts. Regardless, it
appears bug 1872230 already describes the problem.

The left Ctrl key does not work with key combos when using pointer location
in Xorg sessions

No, pointer location is fired once Ctrl is released AND no other
shortcut was pressed. I've just confirmed it works correctly on Ubuntu
20.04.

If you are sure you are holding down the Ctrl key for long enough and
there is really a bug then please run:

  apport-collect 1956235

to provide more information.
