It was happening every time but is not now - I'm not sure whether an update fixed it or something I did (I can't remember when it stopped happening - I run standard Ubuntu Hardy too). I'll see if I can find out. I am not using the colours from system theme but I did change the colours to black on white from the original white on black. Hi, Can you confirm that you see this every time that you start the terminal? If you open the terminal and go to Edit-Current Profile-Colours tab do you have the Use colours from system theme box checked?
